I had heard good things about this place so decided to go here with my parents while they were visiting. Definitely wasn't disappointed. They took a booking at last minute (couldn't fit us in until 3pm but this suited us fine). Our table was ready upon arrival, the service was attentive and despite being busy, the food didn't take too... More

Usually end up at Giant Steps when I visit my daughter in Melbourne. Love sitting outside with the viewable and the sunshine! The food is fresh and the pizzas amazing. Actually had one with peas on it this time! Staff is friendly and very helpful with a wine selection. Never feel rushed and it is a great way to spend... More

Knowing the popularity of this place we counted ourselves very lucky to call on a Saturday afternoon and secure a spot for early dinner. The glass and polished concrete ambience, warmth, comfy couches and cheerful bustle make this spot a great balance of hipster and family friendly (at least at 6pm!). While there is no designated kids' menu our four... More

It's clear that they don't want families to visit. We visited as four families of four people and we practically had to insist that we be entitled to a table ahead of other groups of four who came in after us without reservations. When the manager attended he said that they don't like accommodating broken groups (even as four separate... More

We knew we were pushing our luck rocking up on a Sunday without a booking, as eaten here a few times and is always full, but had to take the chance. Yep, arrived at 12.15, fully booked until 3 :(. Oh well, it's always worth popping your head in to look and smell all the delights, fresh bread, cheese and... More

Service was good, we were welcomed and seated immediately on arrival. Wait staff were always on top of clearing plates and replenishing drinks. They were more than happy to answer any queries and had good knowledge of menu. Food was nice, though very small portions, full of flavour and very enjoyable. Somewhat pricey considering meal size. Loved the cured meats... More

My family of 8 went out to the Giant Steps on a Friday night. We had a fabulous evening. The service was faultless. The pizza was absolutely devine. Everything tasted so fresh. Prices were very reasonable. Best place in Healesville. Will visit again.

We booked dinner here on a Tuesday night as we were driving to the Yarra Valley straight from an evening flight into Melbourne and weren't sure what would be open. Overall the good was great, all small plates for sharing. The building itself is interesting and their wine list was great.

In brief the food was average for the price, we waited for an eternity for lunch and the waitress was simply the rudest I have ever encountered.. Common Australia if you to compete on the world stage in hospitality you've got to train your staff to be the customers needs on every occasion. There is much better in the valley.....

Arrived in Healesville after flight from Perth and 45 min drive - quite exhausted. The welcoming staff at Giant Steps made it all better with their banter and smiles. Pizza with potato, blue cheese and walnuts was one of the best I've tasted anywhere in the world.
