Nice restaurant to enjoy beer/wine while having a nice meal

The Giant Steps winery restaurant is nicely located in Healesville near the Badger Weir Picnic Area and the Sanctuary. Every time we have visitors coming to Melbourne we show them the Healesville area and have lunch at the Giant Steps. The menu has a good selection of food and drinks.

We went here as part of a group visiting this wine area. We had lunch here one day and dinner the next. The food is great, the service friendly and the ambience wonderful.

This is my favourite "Go To" place when looking for a casual, yet sophisticated break in the area. the open plan area incorporates the busy tasting area, with various seating options for couples to large groups, all surrounded by the wine barrels, cheeses room and open kitchen with wood fired pizza oven and bakery goods on display. The menu options... More

On a drive into Healesville drove past and couldn't resist. On a cold rainy day, it was warm & cozy. Had great tapas, a couple of plates more than enough for 1. Sat on the couch by the window under a heater - a very happy place!

We arrive with out a booking and being Sunday they were booked out. Lauren offered us a "couch" with little tables. We decided on the tapas small plates x 3, Salmon Pestrami, Pork Terrine and Lamb croquettes. Each had wine and we were not waiting any time for the food. It was excellent. We were like couch potatoes and loved... More

Innocent Bystander .. you're clever. Loved this place, brilliant food, wines, cheeses, breads and patisseries, and knowledgeable staff who were keen to share the stories and the heritage. Could have stayed all day ... really nice feel in a town - Healesville - that is exactly what one imagines might be on the road into a brilliant Valley. Stopover here... More

Great restaurant with great food and great service. The tapas are great! Have a couple and then a pizza then buy some bread. Fantastic to be able to see the kitchen in action!

Giant Steps by Innocent Bystander is a wonderful place for some lovely food. The variety of breads are fantastic accompaniments to the amazing dips. We had the almond and beet when we visited. There is something about wood fire pizzas that makes it significantly more tastier if done right and these guys do it right. The eggplant, buffalo mozarella, and... More

We visited the innocent bystander twice during our trip to Healesville. The first was to purchase some cheese, the guy behind the counter was extremely knowledgeable and was more than happy to point me in the right direction. We also purchased some of their inhouse baked baguette which was incredible! A quick glance at te menu and we decided to... More

We love coming here for a glass of wine on a Saturday afternoon. Even if it’s a cloudy, cold day you can sit outside under the heaters. The menu is tapas and pizza. They also do a lovely cheese plate. The Pizza is awesome- one of the best we ever had. We highly recommend the mushroom and truffle oil pizza.... More
