Sad let down

After frequenting this restaurant for many years and always being satisfied, we were sadly let down. The old owner/chef appeared to have moved on, and there didn't even appear to be anyone at the Sushi bar cutting up and preparing the fish like in the old days. The beautiful Tokyo duck had... read more

We like Japanese food.. It has been some while since we last went so things may have changed. We were impressed when dining in that we ordered platters to takeaway for our daughters 21st . I cant recall exactly what we ate .. party of 4 , but i do remember it was enjoyable.

Having had disappointing experiences at several other Japanese Restaurants where the chicken morsels were undercooked, we returned to our traditional haunt and found it reliable as ever. The Tatsuta Age was perfect, crispy as it should be. Chef Leanne still prepares great Sashimi and Gyu Tataki and the presentation is impeccable. While the fillet comes with delicious accompaniments of ginger,... More

The waitress was absolutely clueless - didnt know the difference between size portions of entree vs main and wasn't willing to go and ask either. She responded with "I don't know sorry". The food took about 40 minutes to come out. I got my main before my friend got her entree. My friends main then took about another 15 minutes... More

A friend and I went there for dinner on a Saturday night and the restaurant was only half full, so it definitely wasn't busy. Being vegan they catered for me with sushi which was great, but it took over half an hour to come out and the main size was NOT worth the price. I asked the waitress how many... More

Arrived to friends who had already been seated for approx 30 mins and had already been waiting about 25 minutes since ordering a drink. The second group of people that arrived ordered drinks too and everyone waited another 20 minutes. This means some of the group waited 50 minutes for their first drink. The wait staff were sweet but had... More

We dined here recently after a huge break, so we had sort of forgotten any previous experience, which I may add has only been maybe two. Had certainly forgotten how dated, shabby and pretty much run-down the place is, except it's possibly worse. Our service was fine and the food arrived in reasonable time, however the standard was very average... More

I had some Japanese business visitors who were in Australia for 7 days. The previous owner had moved on. The meal was very good, loved it. My guests really enjoyed it and were truly appreciative. My only regret is that my wife and I do not have friends that like Japanese food. I will be using take away as well... More

We love this restaurant & dine here about once a month. The food & service is always very good. We love the relaxed feel of the place. The sashimi & tempura is always fresh & delicious. Our favourite dishes are the Seafood Bento box & the Sushi boat but there are always great specials on offer on the specials board.... More
