First visit at this tired looking winery despite living in the area for years, loved the inside of the building but outside mismatched furniture in an area that could be lovely, had a kelpie running under our legs looking for food which I didn't mind but some would, my husband had steak with... read more

I had my 50th Birthday at Hickinbothams with a small group of friends. It is a great setting, great music, wine and food . We were well looked after by staff and owners and had a lovely afternoon enjoying the log fire and homestead/rustic feel. Would happily return for a nice lunch.

The person who whined recently.......a total jerk. I've seen grumpy customer but this person was particularly nasty. Swearing. Demanding (of course there weren't another 100pp there........) Ignore the tyrant! Hickinbotham is lovely! I'm a local but only discovered this gem 2 years ago. The food is so incredible! Meats done to perfection. Everything is made on premises- even the bread!... More

Hi Joanofarconeandonly As the manager of this venue I would like to thank you for supporting our staff. The customer in question was incredibly rude to them. How he can complain about our service is beyond me as they went out of their way to help him. Perhaps he should ask his friends why they went ahead and ordered and... More

Terrible service today meals not arriving no customer service made to feel that customers are an inconvenience, save yourself the time drive to one of the many better wineries on our beautiful peninsula.

We had lunch there recently and were satisfied as we could sit outside and enjoy our drinks and meal. Otherwise it wouldn't be possible due to a very noisy band performing inside. What we really loved was the nachos (entree), which was huge and absolutely delicious! Could easily fill two people for lunch 😊

We started our wine tour (just 6 people) at Hickinbotham and although it is quite a lovely old world looking vineyard and the the people were friendly enough, it was disappointing that they charged you $5 for tasting non-refundable even if purchasing wine. I believe the wineries of the Mornington Peninsula are pricing themselves out of the general market. How... More

So glad we didn't read reviews before we stopped here, as probably wouldn't have chosen to, if we had, and we would have missed out on the great experience that we did enjoy. A couple of friends and I (2 of us from Qld with a friend from Melbourne) had driven down from the city for a couple of days... More

Hickinbotham is one of the most popular wineries on the weekends on the Peninsula. It's casual and relaxed restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining. It's noisy and great fun. Weekends usually offer good local music which adds to the atmosphere. The wines can be tasted at Cellar Door and then order what you enjoy with your meal. We recently have... More

The owner I am presuming as I've seen her there before is rude, we thought we'd try and give it another shot after another previous bad experience and she treated us like we were wasting her time and was ruder than the first time. The wines are horrible too, so many better wineries to visit
