We booked on line, had the reminder SMS and arrived to find the place in darkness. No expanation, no signs on the door and to compound the insult, and email next day asking how we enjoyed the experience!

Long established rural restaurant, having a far reaching food and wine menu. Supported by friendly and attentive staff , ideal forr brunch or a main evening dinner. Recommended to all

We have read many negative reviews at this restaurant, and frankly we wanted to have a taste ourselves. As we entered the restaurant on a fine Saturday afternoon, we quickly realised we were the only ones there. It seemed bizarre that no one was eating at Gigi's yet there were so many patrons at other restaurants in the nearby vicinity.... More

We booked a table for two based on the advert in the Beechworth tourism magazine and after settling the teenagers in our room at the Carriage motel (good value and service) with a couple of excellent cheese pizzas arrived at 7pm (Tuesday) for dinner. There were seven people in the restaurant apart from us and one waiter. After finding our... More

We had hoped to dine at Provenance but it was closed on Tuesday evening when we were in Beechworth. Based on Gigi's website we booked. None of our party were overly impressed with food or service. My pork belly was over cooked and looked and tasted f it had been cooked some time before I ordered it and reheated. The... More

Sending this review as we wait at the restaurant! Seats for 30. Covers no more than 15 (Tuesday night) and we had to walk up and ask for drinks. Two courses took 90 minutes. Short staffed, underprepared and not on top of the menu. Food is good, but if you want the experience I would choose elsewhere. A capable front... More

We booked on the Monday to have dinner the following night for our anniversary. At 6:20 p.m. 1 hour before our booking I received a message from the resturant that our booking had been cancelled because of a staff shortage. Not happy Jan. Service like this, or lack of it, not only hurts the restaurant but the whole town.

We attempted to dine here this evening. We rang at 2.40pm to make a booking for two for 7.00pm and asked for the booking to be confirmed. We had no reply, but decided to walk to the restaurant anyway. On arrival, we confirmed the sign in the window saying the restaurant was open for dinner. However, the door was locked.... More

We attempted to dine here for lunch on Friday 5th September but walked out somewhat confused & bewildered. There was a waitress dressing the tables & I asked if they were open for lunch. The reply that came back at me was abrupt & uncertain and it was this first impression that made the cut. Sad to see such ignorance... More

Amazing food and amazing wine! Had a wonderful night here with some friends and had one of the best meals I've ever had! Scallops with master stock chicken for entree and venison pie for main and Apple Tarta tan for dessert (my favourite). The service was great too. I will definitely make sure I come back next time Im in... More
