Nice food and ambience upstairs at Nics.

Tried Upstairs at Nics which was a fairly new restaurant. The food was very nice as was the service. Also had a chance to chat to the chef and gave her some feedback.

I had a lasagne that was overcooked and not at all generously filled. Definitely bad value for money. Redeeming elements of eating here were the friendly service and the cosy atmosphere.

Jess is the chef and proprietor of "Upstairs @The Nic", which is upstairs on the large balcony, over looking the main street and out over the village to the hills beyond - a great view. Jess has just opened the business and it is a small operation thus far. Her range of dishes is not large, as it is just... More

We stayed at Nicolas Hotel Beechworth last week. The room is big, very clean, bed is super comfortable, beautiful old fashion furniture in the room. The balcony is huge with the great out look to the street which we can have drink and relax. Shower & Bath room is spot on, very clean ang big. The upstairs restaurant had only... More

I believe this is a new restaurant in an old establishment. I had the pork belly for starters and snapper as a main. Both very good! My wife had the coffee brined steak. Superb. Cooked absolutely wonderfully. The new young chef will go places. Great value meal. Maybe best value for money in Beechworth

The chef need to put the salt away as the food is far too salty and you can not enjoy it. Pity as I was looking forward to a great meal.

We ate here 2 nights and our food was excellent even though on one night the deep fryer was not working. Didn't bother me but a few people left because the menu was limited. The service was a bit hit and miss, but it's a pub so our expectations were not high. On the second night there was some live... More

We were just looking for a "good pub meal" and were surprised at the quality and scope of them menu. Historically this was the fine dining location for the area famous for it's silver service. Nowadays the service is not quite silver but certainly very good. The food was a level higher than "pub food" and we enjoyed quite a... More
