Gourmet 'pub food'

This was our first visit to the Lord Dudley and we chose to sit in the ground floor pub section as we were after a quick main course and home again. We both chose the beer battered fish which was OUTSTANDING. The crisp batter was perfection, the fish was moist, the chips were more-ish, and the... read more

Been here many times, always hoping it would be better but not. Seating uncomfortable, staff not interested - front of house and obviously not back of house

I haven't been here for years, but met up with a local for a simple lunch and good catch-up. Middle of the week lunchtime the restaurant filled up with a wonderful cross section of people. Most notable was how comfortable many of older people who had probably come from the nearby Goodwin Village were. Some were meeting families with children... More

OK so I ordered the roasted barramundi and it was just perfect in every respect. Cooked exactly to the point of firm but not dry, piping hot, the skin crisped and flavoursome. My son had the filet steak on the bone and it was big fat and juicy. The only fault was the completely horrible "béarnaise" sauce which was a... More

Many reviews of The Lord Dudley begin with a comparison to English pubs. It does indeed exude “olde worlde” charm but those old English pubs are ramshackle, remember, because they’ve been there 400 years and survived the Blitz. The Dudley has achieved shabbiness in a fraction of that time. To be fair, we weren’t there long so there might be... More

Hard to go past The Lord Dudley for a pie and a pint. Great range of beers and ales, open fire for chilly winter days and nights and huge, delicious pies. Good range of bar food, but I highly recommend the beef pie. It's substantial and fabulous pastry like my granny used to make, and rammed full of beef. No... More

My mothers 81st Birthday lunch was ruined by the food of this place! Chili Hot Pot - not a chilli to be found, and the prawns were from Coles delicatessen window and imported! The spicy chicken wings the same. Bland and no chilli whatsoever! Pork Belly (we ordered two) and the knife couldn't cut through either of our dishes. we... More

The Lord Dudley is a great old English styled pub tucked away in the back streets of Woollahra. The old decor and open fire place makes you feel as though you are in the English countryside. The pub boasts a hearty menu with a delicious Sunday roast, (roast pork, veggies, Yorkshire pudding and gravy). With other stands outs being their... More

The restaurant is part of the pub itself and has just as much olde english charm as the bar area. Service was very good but being in Woollahra the prices look much the same as any other pub here and its not reflected in the food. If I order a medium rare steak(salad & chips) I expect to see some... More

After wandering the rocks area make your way up to Sydneys oldest 'pub and meet the locals. Nice friendly atmosphere and get the feel of olden Sydney.
