Plenty of food served very promptly and not bad

We were in a hurry and wanted simple fish and chips - and tis is what we got - served promptly and you could sit down and have an alcoholic drink with your fish and chips. Nice way to spend a sunny afternoon and not bad value. Choose carefully - and have a good look at the specials. They were... read more

This is another place we try to get to every time we travel to Sydney. Part of the family business that were started Australia's first seafood restaurant back in 1885. Overlooking the magnificent panorama of Sydney Harbour there is both indoor and outdoor dining and plenty of great Aussie seafood. Visitors to Australia for the first time should take in... More

Had the Lobster Mornay and the seafood platter - absolutely divine! Also had the prawn roll and the salmon roll, both very delicious. A bonus was the stunning view from the wharf.

Took the 380 bus from oxford st upto Watsons bay and found Doyles on the wharf. I had the special of the day, swordfish with chips and salad....it was amazing. My fiance had bbq selection... apart from the calamari being a little chewy everything else was really yummy. We sat out overlooking the water as we ate....and could even grab... More

First visit to Watson's Bay and first visit to Doyles. We opted for the combo pack of calamari, fish and chips. What a generous serving for one. The freshest calamari, like it was just picked out of the ocean. The best piece of fish I have ever eaten. It was worth the ferry ride over. Absolutely delicious. I will definitely... More

Was OK. $18 served one small adult, 2 kids, although we were not very hungry. Seating set up is good though for take away. Stay away from Watsons Bay on weekends or enjoy endless ferry passengers..

Let's be serious: you come here for the location, the overall experience, and the view -- not the food. The fried fish was okay, but not as good as any number of other takeaway places throughout Sydney. The salt and pepper squid was a disappointment -- although the squid itself wasn't overcooked, the batter was completely mushy and not crisp... More

Our family of 4 ate lunch here, having previously enjoyed a meal at Doyles on the Beach a few years ago. What a disappointment today! Even our 2 hungry teens wouldn't finish the tasteless fish, chips & calamari. Dousing the bland flavour in tomato sauce didn't help, as they appear to "water" it down. (Certainly not like any tomato sauce... More

Every time I travel to Sydney, Doyles on the Beach is a 'must do' on my itinerary, the enjoyment starts at Circular Quay where you board a fast Ferry or the regular Sydney Harbour Ferry, the trip across the water is a delight. On arrival at Watsons bay, it is a leisurely stroll along the Wharf to Doyles. The Menu... More

Doyles has three outlets in Sydney. The restaurants at the Ocean Terminal on the Rocks and at Watson's Bay are very good. The cheaper, take-out or eat-in place on the ferry wharf trades a bit on it name. Ordering at the bar can be (and was), slow at 21 minutes. Ambience is nil and the cardboard plates ands very cheap...
