Description: Situated on the shores of Sydney Harbour on Rose Bay, Catalina is a beautiful, airy light-filled restaurant and bar with floor to ceiling glass sliding doors opening out onto a long curved balcony over the water. In keeping with its harbourside location, the menu features beautifully fresh seafood - Sydney Rock oysters shucked to order; house smoked Tasmanian salmon; whole snapper and barramundi, filleted on the premises - but also a wide range of the best meat and poultry Australia has to offer. A fabulous Australian and global wine list (over 600 wines) and welcoming, attentive service, make this restaurant a must-do Sydney dining experience. Come in all day for the full menu - Catalina doesn't close between lunch and dinner - or graze on bar food overlooking the most beautiful harbour in the world.

Recently 10 of us went to Catalina for a birthday dinner. This restaurant, right on the harbour foreshore at Rose Bay, has been in the same place for many years - perfect. Food is fairly expensive but beautifully cooked. I shared an entree of whitebait which was the best I've ever tasted. The toothfish to follow was stunning. I agree... More

Cannot fault this restaurant - every time I have been, I leave full, impressed and satisfied. I went for an anniversary dinner and then took them up on their birthday dinner special.... Amazing both times.

Well I am not a real fan of jelly but definitely of champagne so this dessert definitely was an absolute WINNER!!! It was gorgeous to look at and even more divine to eat with fresh raspberries and dried strawberries which were amazing!!! Although a tad over priced..I am going back to have it all over again!!! I just wish I... More

Nursing a crushing hangover, I got on a privately hired taxi to take me, some work colleagues and some local big-wigs to Catalina's, via a look at some of the most expensive real-estate in Sydney. It's ugly ! Anyway, the restaurant is a lovely open room overlooking the water with an upmarket clientele, sipping fine chilled wines, enjoying life and... More

As a regular at Catalina, you come to know what to expect. The food is typically gorgeous, well presented, and the wine list is impressive (fancy a glass of wine for $40, or a bottle for $6,500?) You get a mixed experience at Catalina - some of the staff are approachable, friendly and genuine, and others act with an air... More

Catalina is still my favourite Sydney restaurant. Whilst I have been disappointed a couple times, I have had dozens of spectacular lunch/dinners there! This is fine dining so prices are high but the quality of the food and the flavours are too. Expect the best! Great for a romantic date or special occasion, but also appropriate for business and/or family... More

We had dinner here for friend's birthday, ten of us in total. We chose the Winter Special menu which had been advertised as the full menu but was actually a very basic choice of pork terrine or poached egg with asparagus (starter), main was either pumpkin slop or fish pie. None of which was anything special, which for $50 per... More

Thank you for your feedback regarding your dining experience at Catalina. I was shocked to read that you did not enjoy the options for our winter special. We have been receiving such wonderful feedback for the past two weeks it has been running. The choice of 2 entrees, though simple, are made with care and premium produce, to ensure that... More

I have not been to this Restaurant in years, and it never disappoints. The service is slick and professional, and the menu always so tempting it's hard to make a choice.Good wine list and very good wines by the glass if you do not want the whole bottle. Even at night, the view of the city is lovely,. Staff are... More

Location and cuisine don't always go together, and all too often restaurants with views use them to hide flaws in the kitchen. Not so Catalina, a Sydney icon, named after the flying boats that used to take off nearby (and whose descendants still float just outside the dining room). Catalina's menu is just extensive enough to appeal to virtually any... More
