Had a dinner here with my wife and we left very happy and satisfied with both food and service. Kingfish carpaccio was absolutely amazing, wagyu beef simply perfect! Pricey, but well matched by the quality food. Would be happy to come back!

Visited Waqu last night, a spur of the moment decision. 8 course Degustation with matching wines! Absolutely amazing food! Extremely well presented, amazing flavours and a great run down of every dish, the origin and the flavours involved! Alot of time and thought has been put into their degustation menu! The matching wines were equally amazing! Never before have i... More

We has the set menu and was most impressed with the service, delivery, presentation and absolutely delightful; meal cooked to perfection! It'll now be our regular must go if we're going Japanese.

We were searching for a restaurant in Crows Nest and came across Waqu and decided to give it a try. We had the three course menu - the middle course tomato x tomato x tomato was the standout one for me, the starter consists of soup with bread and the main was wagyu sirloin, which was cooked to perfection. Would... More

I have dined at Waqu twice in the last month and have been extremely impressed on both occasions. First time was fine dining and second time was Kappo, the Japanese equivalent of tapas. Either way the food was superb and the service very good. The wagu dishes were very, very good. And with prices much less than anything in the... More

One of the better Japanese cuisines we have tasted. It is a bit above the average Japanese restaurant in quality and menu selection. Individual plates are available if that is desired as in Tapas style. The food is delicate and flavoursome with subtle tastes in each dish. We had the five course set menu and the Flank Wagu beef steak.... More

Went there with family, had to wait more than 10 mins to get someone to talk to us. Rude customer service not even offered plain water. Spent over hundreds of dollars. Not recommended

Waqu Japanese Restaurant is our favourite restaurant. After a gracious welcome we are seated in the fine dining section of their recently redesigned dining spaces. The decor is simple, restful and refined. The service is always quick, efficient and friendly. We were there again last Saturday night for our anniversary which the staff recognised by decorating the dessert platter. The... More
