Lunch with a Buddy

I had not been here for years for the lunch time Yum Cha but was pleasantly surprised today that the quality of the food was relatively good.

The Sea Treasure is a North Shore institution and once regarded as one of the best seafood restaurants in Sydney. I have been coming here for over 20 years. I know the restaurant has changed hands and I have had indifferent reports about the place since. Well, visited tonight and was very disappointed. The fish tanks are bare, perhaps suggesting... I have only tried three Yum Cha places in Sydney and I believe this one is the best. Modest pricing, great atmosphere and great quality food. You must try the usual; dumplings, pork buns, fried squid, peking duck, amazing green tea and do not forget for dessert: beautiful and soft mango pancake. Perfect for couples, family, and business. Can get... More

I went here in June and the Yum Cha was nice. I thought it was expensive but it was good. The service was slow but friendly. We sat for a long time in a packed restaurant without any trolleys coming by and we found the same few dishes coming around time after time. Would try it again as it was... More

The minute your backside is on the chair at Sea Treasure a waiter turns up with a pot of tea and the first of many trays of delectable dumplings appear. I have been going here for yum cha for many years. It is better than some of those vast yum cha venues that are the size of a football field.... More

This place has always been known for pretty good yum cha, in particular their seafood dumplings. I would have to say they aren't as good as they used to be and the service isn't either. At the same time its pretty stock standard for a suburban yum cha and still good for a quick lunch with the family!

Returned here to eat recently after staying away for several years due to decrease in quality. On our recent visit for Yum Cha, the food was good, especially the fried pork buns & chicken feet. The service was very good (except for one very frenetic waitress who didn’t listen & threw our food at us). The other staff were very... More

Have been coming here for years to enjoy excellent yum cha. Previous owners and staff made one feel special and went above and beyond with their service. Went here for yum cha on Saturday; left feeling very disappointed in the quality and taste of the food. However can say that the salt & pepper prawns that we ordered were great... More

Sea Treasure have refreshed their menus and are the best Chinese in Crows Nest. They've been here for many years and serve the freshest seafood straight from the tanks. We had some of the Chinese New Year specials earlier this year.

I was first time at Sea Treasure in 1993. I always dine there; never been for lunch. At that time there was no Tripadvisor. To read about the other guests going to Sea Treasure to eat Yum Cha was a surprised. I always enjoyed their great sea food. I had my first Tasmanian king crab and my first balmain bug... More
