Afternoon tea

Recently refurbished, pleasant surroundings although the toilets could be checked more frequently. Afternoon tea was ok, 3 mini scones with jam and cream, the scones weren't fresh and had obviously been warmed up in a microwave which was disappointing. Staff were polite and helpful.

Went to Welshpool with sister and her daughter in law to check on our caravans while on close down, we had decided to do that first then look around the shops in Welshpool then eat. We are regular visitors to this little town because our site is situated 7 miles outside the town. We choose the Royal Oak Hotel after... More

In terms of the quality of drinks bog standard really nothing special but not bad either. Really nice décor in the Royal Oak however drink prices are much more expensive than anywhere else in Welshpool and the food menu is rather expensive (hence why I didn't eat here.)

Glad we found this in Welshpool. Staff excellent - professional and friendly. They found us an excellent table when 8 of us plus dog turned up on spec for Sunday lunch. The Sunday Lunch was really good value. Nice to find sirloin rather than the usual topside.

It's really disappointing that the quality here doesn't match the price . Went in for coffee and it's the little things that they are still not getting right . Adding little extras is great but when the tray given to you is broken and then dirty why would you return . Such a shame , some very simple quality control... More

I recently went to the Royal Oak with my family for my Mum's birthday and was very impressed with the quality of the food and great service. I had the pan fried salmon with crushed new potatoes and spinach. It was very tasty and fresh. Everyone else's meals looked equally as delicious. The Oak has recently undergone a refurbishment and...
