The ladies' has a chandelier!

Attended a function here the other night and the food was pretty good (a buffet put on by the hotel) but what really did it for me was the ladies toilets - chandeliers, massive mirrors, the works!

I rarely give bad reviews but I did give this venue a bad review the last time we ate there some years ago. It's now under new ownership and had a complete facelift. Unfortunately, whilst the menu has changed, the food is still pretty awful, and overpriced! This time, keen to try out the new restaurant, we went for dinner... More

Recently been modernised and is beautiful. Staff are welcoming and food is delicious. Have tried the Sunday lunch which is massive and the dirty burger - cooked to perfection.

what a great hotel, the manager, Mark and his staff were friendly and were very attentive to their guests, the public rooms are very modern and clean, our room was lovely, and I really recommend their restaurant

Me and my mum went here for an evening meal a couple of days ago, with the knowledge that it has recently been revamped and now under new management. The menu had plenty of choice and definitely something for everyone. I went for the twice cooked sticky beef and my mum went for the peri peri chicken. We wanted to... More

My order of tuna mayo with red onion turned out to be 3 layers of bread overwhelmed by onion and cucumber. The salad was very tired and inedible. The dishwasher in front of my seat was noisily filled and switched on! The beef sandwich was on white bread which was 'pappy' and inedible. The chips were lovely. I will be... More

The restaurant in this pub is worth the visit to Welshpool which, on its own, didn't do it for me. We needed somewhere where we could take our puppy and this place was the best from the small selection available. The food was REALLY good. My chicken in mushroom sauce with crushed new potatoes was amongst the best food I've... More

Having stopped off at this hotel last night, I was pleased to find out this place does real ale, even if it is only 2 hand pumps. Nice cakes were available, the lemon drizzle went down very well. Hot drinks available, speed quick. Staff + locals friendly. Her Majesty the Queen apparently stayed here in 1995 according to the locals,... More
