This pub is big but is separated into 3 different rooms so it still has a cosy feel. The bar has a good selection of real ales, and there's also a costa in there if you want a decent coffee. It's the kind of pub you can take anyone, because it's smart and clean, and kid friendly too. Both times... More

We had a very pleasant lunch here and would come again, but the management needs to take a fresh look at some aspects. These may seem like niggles but why not put them right? As first time visitors, we sat in the dining room for quite a long time wondering whether someone would come to welcome us and take an... More

Very friendly staff, nothing is to much trouble. The food and cocktails are good here, or you could sit and relax with a hot chocolate or cup of tea. They have got their own car park which is very useful.

We came here after failing to get food anywhere else and we are so glad we did! Good menu, gf options clearly marked, staff helpful and knew what they were going. I had chicken in cheese and leek sauce with saute potatoes and perfectly cooked veg. Very nice indeed. At £13.00 was good. There was a choice of gf sarnies... More

Food quality was just about equal to the price list, nothing to write home about. I had duck with red wine reduction which reduced so much it had disappeared by the time it got to the table. Limited wine by the glass and bottle prices quite high e.g a bottle I buy in the supermarket @£8 was £30 in the... More

The menu was very limited for vegetarians. They offered larger potion of a starter but ended up filling up on bread rolls. Room okay and reception staff helpful.

This is the sort of hotel that every prosperous market town used to have - friendly. good atmosphere, adaptable. I came here recently to meet a friend for supper, and 2 of us came recently for a meeting and coffee. The barman was very friendly and made sure that we had somewhere quiet for our meeting. Right in the centre... More

Excellent place to have a nice relaxed drink with friends. The staff are so friendly and the fact that they remember you and greet you like a friend when you return. The place is set up to relax in a clean comfortable atmosphere. The toilets are immaculate. They have Live entertainment on a Friday night with something to suit all... More

Sunday dinner: the risotto was great, and not too rich, but the pork was over cooked and veg was soggy. Dessert great! Waiters eager but clueless. A little training, please.

Had a quiche for lunch, everything was well executed and the portion was very generous. Prices are quite reasonable and represent good value.
