Sunday lunch

Interesting twists on classic dishes ( Mussels with leeks) make the menu lively. Good service and a comfortable environment. Good for veggies too!

I ate at the Wynnstay because I was staying there, but I'm so glad I did. The food was exceptional, beautifully cooked local food, and utterly delicious. I later found out that the proprietor is an award winning chef who competes for Wales and has cooked for their First Minister and guests, so on balance its not surprising. In fact... More

Visited for the first time whilst staying in Machynlleth with a group of walking friends. We all had pizzas and thorough enjoyed the choice and variety of toppings and the friendliness and flexibility of all staff. My friend doesn't eat cheese, but it wasn't a problem and her alternative choices of topping were generous and very tasty. Waitress was lovely... More

I love coming here for pizza. It never fails to more than satisfy. To be able to watch the pizza being made in front of you, with no complaints when you choose your own variety of toppings, quick, friendly service and a good atmosphere, is incongruously wonderful for such a small town as Mach. I wish a lovely cup of... More

We have eaten here several times before, and based on past experience this was one of our favourite restaurants. But alas no more. For two of us the food just did not cut the mustard, albeit one of the group had an excellent starter (Mallard Salad) and excellent main (Pheasant and mash). TIPS: (1) Lots of bread is no good... Been in several times recently to meet clients over a coffee. Great place to relax with a cafetiere in comfy armchairs and talk business in comfort. Lots of good cafes in mach, but this has the edge for comfort!

6 of us walked in hoping to have sunday lunch after being recommended. The waitress said she would set up a table and to get a drink at the bar. The manager possibly rudely pointed out that she didn't like children in the bar area. We sat in the other area for 10 minutes and wasn't seen too. Unchild friendly!!!... More

situated within an old hotel at the centre of Machynlleth this restaurant provided everything we wanted. We were meeting friends not seen for the past year. So essentially we were looking for atmosphere, service, good food and reasonable prices. I am pleased to say that all of these were achieved. The food was good, the wine reasonably priced and the...
