We were traveling back from Cheshire through Mid Wales and pulled in here for a coffee and were impressed by the lovely building and eclectic mix of furniture and art works. It was very homely and we were soon made to feel at home by the friendly hostess, so decided to dine. We chose a Welsh lamb dish and a... More

When we have special customers visit the Milebrook is the place to take them. Very good food in good surroundings. Very friendly people who can cope with all the different nationalities we take there. Prices reasonable and menu good. Can recommend it

We had lunch at the Milebrook as I thought it would be a good lunch. I was sadly very disappointed. The decor is very dated and a bit of a jumble. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For an establishment with many awards the menus were very poor especially with such fantastic local meats and produce available. we had... More

The atmosphere of the hotel is lovely, the dining room is quiet no piped music to talk over. Our table had a view of the bird feeders and we watched the birds including a woodpecker. The food was lovely. Would definitely go back... and if we lived further away ( we are only just over a mile away) we would... More

We went for a Sunday lunch. The snow was on the ground making the grounds and house look quite a magical place. A warm fire and a warm welcome, with good food. There was an abundance of birds just outside the dining room to watch as we ate. Very appealing property which clearly has an interesting past. One minor niggle... More

The food is beautifully cooked and tasty and the service is great. There is a comprehensive wine list. However, sitting near one of the doors felt quite chilly.

Warm friendly welcome with log fires. Tables laid with crisp white table linen. Delicious freshly prepared locally sourced food served in elegant surroundings.

Lots of guests who are staying at the Milebrook come in to see us, and without exception they enthuse about the fantastic atmosphere, wonderful building, great service and superb food. Strangely though some people living more locally don't realise how great the Milebrook is as a restaurant, and how consistently good the food is. Last Friday we took a party... More

Possibly the best restaurant in the Knighton area with lots of old memorabilia and cosy seating. If the wether is fine, lovely gardens to sit out.

We had an excellent meal with very attentive service. Very friendly cat in residence! We were interested in the house as Wilfred Thesiger, explorer, had lived there with his mother and brothers - some photos to see. Lovely gardens so would be good to go in the summer.
