Pleased we came upon this place!

Visited this busy fish & chip shop, which sold small, regular or large portions. It also had variety inc. moussaka, pasta etc. Had the cod which was really good, firm in texture & bright white. Chips were good to, but why so many "bits" in my portion. I think I was unlucky. Good quality & good... read more

Staggered in after an exhausting spell of retail therapy to be greeted by a charming waitress who seated us and took our order. Lovely pot of tea and scrumptious cake. Who would want more, we leave Pembroke to return to Folkestone with fond memories

I have been a fan of Brown's. Since I was a kid, came down from school at lunch time to have a bag of chips (with bits- batter)and a coke float in the 70's. Took my first date out and sat in the 1950's style red leather booths. Hasn't changed much, I love it. Best chips on the planet. Xxx

food was great service was great and staff were absolutely fantastic! They couldn't do enough for us. There was only 3 young ladies and the cafe was packed out and they coped with the lot! Definitely will be returning soon! But would like to say you could tell there was a atmosphere with the man that worked there and the... More

Hungry from working all morning, then caught in torrential rain, I decided to stop for Brown's "Famous fish and chips". I am so glad I did. Best fish and chips I have ever tasted - really light, very crispy batter and proper chip shop chips. Washed down with a cup of tea, Great service, nice customers, the cafe had a... More

I loved Browns in Pembroke. Having grown up in the 70's and enjoyed what I call 'proper' cafés like this all my life, it was great to find one in Pembroke. No airs and graces, posh coffee's or exotic menu's that are hard to understand, let alone get your children to eat! Just good, honest food at reasonable prices. Friendly... More
