I recently had a meal here, the food was good, the place was very clean and warm. Their was no dogs or drunks at the bar. It is now a very nice place to eat.

The new Bistro opened this month and was fantastic. There was a lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff who were accommodating of our friends' 2 year old daughter. All 5 of us adults who went thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The menu was great and food delicious. We will definitely be visiting again. All but one of us had 3 course... More

We had a night at the castle and loved the village so much we stayed another night and were lucky to find the Star. A fab little place, quirky rooms, great staff and atmosphere. Well be back!

Second visit in 6 months. First visit very good. This visit extremely poor. Bad enough for me to write this and not want to go again. No cocktails. No beer, only Guiness. White wine warm . Despite having booked service incredibly poor. Half of menu unavailable. Took ages for food to arrive, main before starter! Waitress seemed very stressed. Initially... More

We decided to go Out for a little birthday tea somewhere local and chose the star - we all enjoy Mexican food! We were not disappointed! Portions were massive and so so tasty! It was mid week so it was quiet, perfect! Will definetly return. The only criticism we had was at the end of our meal a customer entered... More

This was the first time that we had visited since the Star had become a Mexican restaurant. We had the pint and taco deal, which was a bargain at £5. Good food, and a nice ambience there. We will return for a main course, which we saw coming out from the kitchen - enormous portions, so will have to have... More

A little bit pricey but the food is excellent. Sit in the conservatory or in the dining room. Both nicely furnished. Attentive staff. I would recommend this for a special occasion

Good Mexican food and some interesting cocktails on offer. The food was very tasty and huge portions considering the price. Not sure I it wants to be a local pub/ bar or restaurant but whatever it is I enjoyed my visit an would definitely go again. Da iawn
