The Leyland Arms is one of the few remaining true country pubs with a real country pub attitude. The Leyland Arms exists primarily to keep the local community together and to provide a social center for those within Llanelidan.A warm welcome also awaits anyone who wishes to visit us and experience our hospitality whether on holiday or working on business. The Leyland Arms occupies a prime position in the picturesque village of Llanelidan, and has always provided a warm and re-assuring feeling of welcome for over several hundred years. The Church of Saint Elidan is a building of both historical and architectural interest, it shares pride of place with the beautiful church of Saint Elidan adjacent to the village hall; which was previously the school. Overlooking the village cricket pitch, the Clwydian Mountain Range in the background affords the pub a natural source of shelter. The entrance to the Leyland Arms is through the courtyard behind the main building. Once inside the building the ceiling beams and wood burning fire provide a complementary setting for the small, well stocked, bar.The food is both great quality and good value. The items on the concise but varied menu are all prepared and cooked on the premises by the landlord, Steve Nicolopulo, to excellent standards. All produce is sourced from local suppliers wherever possible and served up in portion sizes not for the faint hearted. If you have a special requirement or want to book an event then please contact us and we will do our best to cater for your requirements. The Leyland Arms also provides up to 3 rooms should you wish to make yourself at home in the village for longer than a quick drink or meal. The accommodation consists of a double room, which boasts an en suite and spacious relaxation area, a twin room and a single room. For more details on our accommodation please visit the 'rooms' link. All of our room rates include a full breakfast.

Several members of my family had close connections with the Leyland Arms, dating from the 19th C. The grandmother of one was the landlady; another was the daughter of the headmaster and lived next door in the School House. We live in various parts of N. Went here on the 23/08/2015 on the recommendation of some friends. Me and the wife had the Sunday lunch. There was a choice of beef or pork. I had the beef and wifey had the pork. Both arrived piping hot after a slight wait, around 30 minutes. On our plates were four decent slices of meat, large Yorkshire pud, roasted... More

Went here with a family party. Had to wait ages for our starters. My Thai fishcakes- one was cold and I doubt it had even seen the frying pan. The other was just OK. The sauce dip was obviously just poured out of a bottle. My Cajun Chicken although tender was bland with a bland sauce poured over but the... More

We were staying locally to this establishment so having seen it advertised we decided to try it. On arrival we asked if they could serve us, 8 adults and 2 children, and after checking with the chef were told yes and shown into a room with 4 tables. The young lady was very helpful and explained what was not available... More

Beware the large 'food being served' sign outside this pub. It ain't necessarily so. Attracted by the said very prominent roadside announcement we called in for light lunch. Found a table, picked up a bar menu, attempted to order. Unapologetically informed 'we are not doing food today'. Suggested they may want to take down the 'food being served' sign. Blank... More

Really couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome. We had a lovely evening in this great country pub. I had fish pie and it was delicious, my husband had the haddock - that was huge! Will behind the bar was great and all the locals were friendlier than any other welsh pub I've been too. Thanks for a lovely evening!

You have to try steve's stilton and broccoli soup and his moussaka- both the best I've ever tasted. Great local pub, really friendly and welcoming.

My wife and I visited the Leyland Arms tonight to catch up with old friends. As we hadn't eaten we decided to order some food whilst there. We have spent a lot of time in the Leyland Arms over the past few years and it is one of our favourite pubs. On quiet nights it is a one man band... More

I was attending a group function here last night where they had a sent dinner of lamb hotpot and ginger pudding (which my companions gave rave reviews!) I'm coeliac, and usually I phone up restaurants before hand to warn them, however I was given about an hours notice that I was expected to attend this function. I attended this gorgeous... More
