This hotel and restaurant sits in a spectacular location overlooking the Menai Straits on the Ismand of Anglesey. Recently under new management it offers a wide range of cuisine from bar meals to a full dining room service. A good range of beers and wines are available and a menu with some good choices often with locally sourced ingredients. Local mussels and fish are specialities and well worth a try. With friendly and helpful staff and meals at very reasonable prices this is a lovely spot to enjoy a relaxing spot, good food and drink with superb views over the Straits. In the summer months. outdoor dining at tables at the water's edge is particularly pleasant. It can get a little crowded in high season but bookings can be made for the restaurant to avoid disappointment. During Spring and Autumn it is rarely crowded but has a good all-year round reputation with local customers. The hotel is residential and has a good reputation but, never having stayed there myself, I cannot comment on the residential element of the hotel.

Great location and Good food

Popped in here for a quick lunch, we opted for sandwiches, but the roast dinners looked very good. Bar maid was super helpful and very friendly. Great location for a spending an hr or 2 over a beer!

After seeing the amazing view this hotel has to offer and several conversations with Chris the owner, we booked the hotel for our intimate wedding reception. We live over 2 hours away in Cheshire, therefore most of the details were arranged by telephone, but what can I say the whole weekend was absolutely amazing! We booked out all the rooms... More

Went here for lunch with the family! A Robinson's establishment looking right on to the Menai. We ordered food and have to say I had the steak which was cooked perfectly to my liking, the rest of the family had from Poached Salmon to Cajun Chicken! Not one of us could say a bad word about the food! It was... More

A table of 6 of us called in on the off chance of table and were accommodated immediately. We were sat in what was referred to as the restaurant which had the tables set beautifully, but not really appropriate for that time of day. The location and the building are stunning. The views are spectacular. To eat we all had... More

Great location and splendid views onto the Menai, boded well for a good meal. Service was shocking as the hotel was busy and this meant frequent trips to a crowded bar looking for assistance. My food was tasty but my wife had to leave half of hers as it tasted off. Difficult to get to pay the bill and eventually... More

Stayed in the annex room 11,negatives - no wifi, only in main hotel.flat screen TV about 10" and poor reception, bed very soft and uncomfortable and overall musty in room. On the plus side, the staff were excellent, had a drink in the bar which is rather small but ok and had a decent meal in the restaurant. Overall ok for a one night... More

What a strange place. Manager was having a rather forthright discussion with a young girl about her wages... For all to hear. Food was expensive and not up to much. My partner ordered a Spanish omelette from the specials board but nobody seemed to know what the ingredients were... So the waitress asked US when she plonked it down. I... More

Booked for an evening meal this Sunday. We have been going to the Gazelle for the last 15 years, mainly for the fantastic view of the Menai Straits, however the menu and general ambiance has been declining. This location is a premium in Anglesey and should be much busier, the menu should reflect local produce and there should be a... More
