Ranked #14 of 31 Restaurants in Menai Bridge
Cuisines: International
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Reservations
Description: This hotel and restaurant sits in a spectacular location overlooking the Menai Straits on the Ismand of Anglesey. Recently under new management it offers a wide range of cuisine from bar meals to a full dining room service. A good range of beers and wines are available and a menu with some good choices often with locally sourced ingredients. Local mussels and fish are specialities and well worth a try. With friendly and helpful staff and meals at very reasonable prices this is a lovely spot to enjoy a relaxing spot, good food and drink with superb views over the Straits. In the summer months. outdoor dining at tables at the water's edge is particularly pleasant. It can get a little crowded in high season but bookings can be made for the restaurant to avoid disappointment. During Spring and Autumn it is rarely crowded but has a good all-year round reputation with local customers. The hotel is residential and has a good reputation but, never having stayed there myself, I cannot comment on the residential element of the hotel.

We love The Gazelle for it's location. Noticed quite a lot of lovely refurbishments have taken place since we were there last. Delicious evening meal.

Gone downhill in the last 12 months, we used to like coming here but unfortunately won't be coming back. It was very disorganised, the management were rude to all the customers, and e serving staff looked very shabby. The decoration has also deteriorated, looking quite tatty, and the ladies toilets were in serious need of upgrading; damp smelly and paint... More

Part of a party of 21 who all stayed over and had a meal together. We were given a private dining room and the food was very good, with everyone's meals coming out in quick succession. Everyone enjoyed themselves and appreciated the hospitality.

We have ate at the Gazelle many times over the years and have always been very pleased with the selection of meals, standard of cooking and the service. It has fairly recently been taken over and I have found the new owners to be polite. But sadly the menu is now boring and limited. Our last two visits have been... More

Found the Gazelle by accident as we were walking toward Beaumaris. Walked down a quaint little lane and found the hotel right on the waterside. We had sandwiches for lunch and a couple of pints of excellent beer. The sandwiches came promptly and were very nice and well filled. The overall atmosphere was welcoming. The one lady running the bar did... More

Bear in mind that the restaurant only had 1 couple in who we're finishing their meal. 30 minutes before we got a drink and we ended going to get them ourselves from the bar. No Peroni as barrel needed changing. As we were about to order a Sunday roast we were told no beef and no lamb, they'd ran out.... More

I was intending to write a review as soon as we returned home on Sunday, but, as I hadn't complained at the time, thought it only fair to e-mail the directors to give them the chance to respond. That was two days ago, and I have yet to receive an acknowledgement. The text of my e-mail says it all.... "Dear... More
