A Lucky Discovery

We had just returned from a Puffin Island Cruise ( well worth the time and money) and the sea air had left us starving. Having been advised not to eat outside because of scavenging gulls, we set off in search of a suitable eating house. Although we found a few likely candidates, they were all a... read more

We have been coming to The Bulls Head for many years & after a year or two break we were keen to return and really looking forward to it. Unfortunately it did not live up to previous visits. We had decided not to have a starter & just order mains so knew there would be a little wait, food arrived... More

Having been to the Loft Restaurant several times before we were looking forward to another visit. We were however extremely disappointed and are I likely to return again. The evening started off badly with ore dinner drinks in their lovely Lounge. In the past we have enjoyed a variety of Canapés but on this this occasion we were offered a... More

Doesn't take reservations so arrived early. Pleasant, quite lively environment but totally predictable decor. Fairly bland, unlocalised menu. Pleasant service by entirely inexperienced crew. Overall there was nothing to complain about but nor was there anything to shout about! There were quite a few groups with children that seemed to be having a good time. Value rated as OK (fairly... Where do I begin...? I have known this place over several years and always enjoyed it. So taking friends out for a day on Anglesey decided it would be a great place for lunch. Sat down approx 1 pm . Ordered wine and water perused the menu , made our choices . We sat and sat and sat . Eventually... More

We rang to book a table for lunch and were told they didn't take reservations. On arrival we realised that the fine dining restaurant was closed (it was Sunday lunchtime) and so we were directed to the brasserie which is a conservatory type room. It was still fairly busy at 2pm but there were several empty tables. As a party... More

My review covers both their bistro downstairs, as well as the Loft Restaurant upstairs. On a recent to beaumaris, we ate in both. The Bistro - ate here with my husband, 4 yr old son, mother in law and brother in law. They do not take reservations, so if you want to be sure of a table, arrive before 7pm... More

so I did not venture into dessert. Wine was good, sparkling water more pricey than wine. Seafood platter to share is delicious with mussels crab and smoked haddock. I chose steamed shellfish as main and i got a messy spicy plate with raisins. Description should tell more about how the plate is prepared Service was ok, brasserie room is dull,... More

I ate in the Loft first and agree with others that for £45 it was expensive and the portion sizes were small. However I have no complaints about the quality of the cooking or the service so I would happily visit again for a special occasion. But The Brasserie was a real let down. My burger was raw - something... More

An excellant modern menu with some surprising twists on old favourites. Very tastefully contemporary design decor with attentive wait staff. Do youself a favour and have a meal here. You will not be disappointed.
