An unexpectedly pleasant experience

Unexpected because we had earmarked the Bishopsgate for our Thursday lunch and were disappointed to find that they did not do lunches midweek. They recommended the Brasserie at the Bull's Head and there we therefore went. A modern light and airy restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful. Meals not... read more

Whilst staying at the hotel we chose to eat in the Loft restaurant rather than the Brasserie and it was certainly a wise decision. I was expecting decent gastropub food but what I got was one of the best meals I have eaten in a long time - so good it must be approaching Michelin star standards and I've been... More

I came here for a meal when visiting Beaumaris on Saturday on a coach trip (the rest of the coach had gone to other, various places in Beaumaris for food so I was on my own). From the outside, it looked like your average pub, so I had fully expected a pub meal, and was pleasantly surprised to see a... More

The staff were indifferent. The menu sounded ok but the standard of food was average and very overpriced. Bread and dips to start followed by a salmon salad, two beef burger and a plate of mussels with four cokes came to £85.00. The restaurant was not busy but the food took quite a while to arrive. We were made to... More

We took our daughter for Sunday lunch and were surprised how quiet it was when we arrived at 12.30 pm. The food was lovely. We tried the appetisers mixed bread, humorous with pitta and tortilla with aubergine. In hindsight 2 between the 3 of us would have been more than sufficient. With a Sunday roast beef, cod loin with spinach... More

Very poor quality very small portion watery gravy soft roast potatoes one of the worst Sunday lunches I have had in years I was surprised as this restaurant was well known for quality Sunday lunch and there would have been no way a walk in would get a table at 2pm on a Sunday,

If you're a dog owner....my advise is don't go. We visited with our trusted labrador after a morning out in Beaumaris for lunch, only to be directed to the soulless snug, where we were informed that only soup and sandwiches were on offer. We could not eat from the main brasserie menu.." No hot food in the bar" ( so... More

We have been staying at The Bull for about eleven years now and even had our wedding night there. It has always been fabulous and still is. Our latest visit was a surprise for my husband's 60th, which involved the help of Sian, in reception (and deception!), and other members of staff in the Brasserie. It all went amazingly well,... My partner had great expectations for this restaurant as he had read extremely good things about it. We ate at the Brasserie, not the Loft which is an award winning restaurant. The restaurant was busy and we managed to get a table for two right next to the waiters station which was a little impersonal. We decided to go early... More
