Comfortable enjoyable stay in a historic pub in a beautiful town

Enjoyed a recent visit for one night, large comfortable room with a 4 poster bed. Enjoyed an excellent meal in the lovely brasserie, followed by a pleasant drink in the cosy historic bar! Great accommodation in a lovely setting with views to the snow covered mountains, fantastic!

Friendly helpful service. Food OK. Our starter of hummus was tasteless. We did check whether indeed it was hummus and we were reassured that it was! We had fish and chips for our main course and that was OK. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming despite the average food. Maybe we were unlucky

Food came out cold and totally tasteless. Very expensive for what is very average food. Staff were very attentive but it didn't really make up for the food. Would not recommend.

We dined in the bistro on a Friday evening. The food was lovely and very well presented. The restaurant looks as though it has recently been renovated and is lovely with oak beams and a real fire. Although it is quite large it was warm and cosy.

We had a very pleasant evening sitting near to the open fire in the Bistro, the more informal restaurant downstairs. The service was good too. Sadly the food is not very special and does not reflect the local specialities of fish and meat. My husbands lamb shank was lacking in taste. My steak was ok but at £21, overpriced. I... More

We ate here on a recent weekend in Beaumaris and can recommend it. The food was excellent - my husband had a steak and I had lamb, both of which were delicious. It was pretty full and the atmosphere was really good. We sat near the roaring fire which was very welcome on a cold, wet night. The staff were... More

Visited the Ye Old Bull just before Christmas and despite warning the establishment a week and then 24 hrs ahead that I was a coeliac and essentially required a gluten free meal I was served gluten cross contaminated canapé to start off the evening. To be fair the waitress, thank God,she had the intelligence to warn me just before I... More

We had a wonderful time at this place on New Year's Eve. We ate upstairs in the posh restaurant. Before, champagne was served in an elegant room downstairs. We had a 6 course meal and every dish was delicious. The service was excellent. The lady with short hair who was serving the champagne downstairs was very professional, friendly and helpful.... We stayed here on New Years Eve and had a wonderful time. We have been before for a meal at New Year and have always found the food to be top notch, this year we also stayed the night. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable with everything you needed on hand. We had a wonderful meal, good company... More

The week before Christmas is a busy time for everyone and this was no exception. We had Sunday lunch in the bright and well set out restaurant, good choice of options on the menu. We were invited to sit in the Resident's lounge by the lovely roaring fire whilst we made our selections, and generally made very welcome. Lunch itself... More
