A Little Gem

We visited Amlwch Port, just outside the town of Amlwch in N. Anglesey, on a grey, November morning. It was one of the quietest villages I've been to. Hardly anyone about, a couple of pubs and not much more. We walked down the footpath to the port itself - extremely quiet, just a few small fishing... read more

We discovered Coffee Cups in June 2012 in Camaes and have made several visits there since, this week's being to the new, larger premises. You always get a warm welcome from Carole and Roy and the food is excellent. At lunchtime the paninis get our vote and in the afternoon the cakes/scones are both tasty and well presented. The use... It was a cold, blustery late afternoon and I was in need of some refreshment. Stumbled across this little gem of a place and despite being closed for about 20mins they opened up and served me tea & Welsh cake...fab! How many places would have done that!? Very friendly staff. Highly recommended,

We visited Coffee Cups again this week and it was just as good as last time. The service is excellent, the staff are very friendly. The food is lovely and the whole place is spotlessly clean. It is lovely to sit outside if the weather is ok. There is always the chance to spot a dolphin in the bay.

We visited Coffee Cups last time we were in Anglesey and had a very nice afternoon tea. We did the same this year -- still excellent! Really nice tea and cakes and very friendly service.

We were in the area and were in need of bite to eat. On looking at the menu we spotted Afternoon Tea, £5.99. As it was lunchtime we asked if it was too early to have this, the staff were very obliging and told us that if something was on the menu then we could have it. It was an... More

We came across the Coffee Cups in the Sail Loft whilst exploring the area and in desperate need of a cup of tea we decided to stay and look at the menu. Fancying a little bite to eat with our cuppa, we spotted the Afternoon Tea for £5.95. It was really excellent value consisting of a choice of sandwiches from... More

Addendum to my Review 22 July 2014 “And the Good News is…..” We arrived for a late lunch & were immediately welcomed with “would the dog like a drink & some cheese ?”; after he’d been attended to it was our turn. The waitress was very helpful & asked if we preferred our drinks straight away or with our meal.... More

We discovered recently that Carole and Roy who previously ran Coffee Cups in the charming Anglesey costal village of Cemaes Bay had moved to the newly refurbished location of the "Sail Loft" on the dockside of Old Amlwch Port just a few yards beyond the Copper Kingdom Heritage Centre, we always made a point of calling in to the cafe... We decided, on the spur of the moment, to have lunch here. It was very busy and they had run out of soup. No worries - we ordered paninis and tea. They were delicious and our teas were as ordered - one Earl Grey and one English Breakfast. the service at the counter and at the table was friendly and... More
