After visiting Tourist Information, we called in for a drink. Lovely old building, friendly staff, drinks very reasonable. Plenty of seating but air conditioning uncomfortable - we moved seats. Food the usual Wetherspoons fare, looked good, but we were on our way to The Kymin and had a picnic lunch to eat.

This was a typical Wetherspoons, you get what you pay for. The place was freezing, the air conditioning was full blast and people were moving seats to get warm. Management didn’t give a fig, and wouldn't turn it off. Ribs were just like bare bones (before eating) and vegetable pasta was completely tasteless. You have been warned !!

Nice pub, large, plenty of space and some quieter separate rooms for more privacy - good, quick service and nice food ... What more can you want!

A group of us , all girls, finished our evening off here . There were 12 of us and towards the end of the evening a few went out for fresh air whilst the other finished up their drinks as time had been called. Very shockingly they were not aloud back in to wait safely with friends, even though the... More

We visited this pub/restaurant in mid-June 2014. The main bar area is light and airy. The bar staff were welcoming. We didn't dine there but we had some local cider and it was very refreshing. Toilets were clean (mens) and the general bar/restaurant area looked very clean and had a comfortable atmosphere.

I'm a regular Wetherspoon customer - in fact I'm a big fan of theirs. Had breakfast at Monmouth recently - up to the usual good standard. No complaints there. However the toilets in this hotel are not the best - they're old and a bit shabby, but that's because of the age of the building. However, there is no excuse... More

A very busy pub which serves food. Very popular for eating particularly at weekends. Good value food. Nothing fancy but good honest pub food. Drinks cheaper than average. Staff friendly.
