Had Christmas Day lunch here for the second consecutive year. It was fabulous. We were very impressed last year, hence the return , but yesterday exceeded all expectations. Yet again the soup was to die for , the main course was huge , well cooked, well presented and delicious! The Christmas pudding was lush. A lovely table, and friendly efficient... More

My wife and I called in for a quick lunch couple of weeks back, its a Wetherspoons so you know what you're going to get etc Polite staff, nice atmosphere, varied menu of good value, and the food was pretty decent. No complaints!

This Weatherspoons is large with plenty of small rooms for dining but to be honest it is pretty quiet with no music or dancing areas if that is what your after. It is though in a prime position in the centre of Monmouth overlooking the town square. Its an old coaching inn with quite a lot of history and the... More

All 3 of us had the 14oz rump (bit of a tradition on our walking weekends). We decided not to risk rare and went for medium rare. Probably the right call, but it was far better quality meat than one has any right to expect for £14 - including a pint. Good range of sides though the extra portion of... More

Some Wetherspoons vary in quality of food, but the Friday special fish and chips we had was nicely cooked and very tasty. Only downside is that it was busy and it took ages for some tables to be cleared.

A really nice building , A busy place due to good value and locality . Reasonable service and good menu. Best to visit at quieter periods.

We have visited several Wetherspoons as we travel a lot for work, and we have noticed that the quality of the food varies a lot. We were very happy with this one! I had the Welsh dragon sausages with leek and cheese mash - this was a regional variation on their menu. My husband had the steak. Both meals were... More

So its a Weatherspoons; you pay your money (not much to be fair) and you reckon on an OKish meal. This we did and this we got. What really caused a problem was the three drunk teenagers that the staff made no attempt to tackle at 6.00pm. Come on Weatherspoons you can do better than this! At least three other... More
