The hotel side of the kings head is very good all the staff are very friendly and very pleasant the rooms are very clean and are always fresh ( due to the nature of my stay I do leave I few muddy marks here and there which I do apologise for ) on the other side of the business (the... More

We visited The Kins Head today and enjoyed their Friday "Fish and Chip" Special. The place was really busy at lunchtime, but the service was fast and the food fresh and well cooked. Certainly worth a visit.

This is a pretty standard weatherspoons, food is hot and served quick even when busy at 9pm on a Friday. Some good offers on at the time. Tables were clean and plates cleared away quickly. Couple of bad points tho. Chairs. The chairs at our table, were very sticky. I know this can't be helped in a pub but this... More

We ate dinner on a one-night stay in Monmouth. We ate a late lunch/early dinner. Starters were chicken strips and king prawns. Both piping hot with tasty dipping sauces. Mains were steak (medium Rare) and Piri-Piri chicken. Steak was cooked correctly, tender and tasty, chicken was hot and succulent, both up to the mark. Now restaurants can make mistakes -... More

Had Christmas Day lunch here for the second consecutive year. It was fabulous. We were very impressed last year, hence the return , but yesterday exceeded all expectations. Yet again the soup was to die for , the main course was huge , well cooked, well presented and delicious! The Christmas pudding was lush. A lovely table, and friendly efficient... More

My wife and I called in for a quick lunch couple of weeks back, its a Wetherspoons so you know what you're going to get etc Polite staff, nice atmosphere, varied menu of good value, and the food was pretty decent. No complaints!

This Weatherspoons is large with plenty of small rooms for dining but to be honest it is pretty quiet with no music or dancing areas if that is what your after. It is though in a prime position in the centre of Monmouth overlooking the town square. Its an old coaching inn with quite a lot of history and the... More

All 3 of us had the 14oz rump (bit of a tradition on our walking weekends). We decided not to risk rare and went for medium rare. Probably the right call, but it was far better quality meat than one has any right to expect for £14 - including a pint. Good range of sides though the extra portion of... More
