Description: The Coconut Kitchen, located in the village of Abersoch in Wales, is renowned for its fresh, aromatic Thai cuisine. The dining room at The Coconut Kitchen - decorated with Oriental lamps and dark wooden furniture overlooks the harbour and has a warm, intimate vibe perfect for cosy dining, and the restaurant is a popular place for dates, nights out with friends and dinner parties. We love the innovative menu, and popular dishes include the char-grilled coriander sirloin steak with a garlic and chilli sauce served with stir-fried greens and sweet potato crisps; the King Prawn Panang Curry cooked in a creamy red curry sauce with lime leaves and Thai sweet basil; and the delicious lemongrass and ginger crme brulee.

We took a takeaway from here as we were staying nearby and had a dog we didn't want to leave alone. Ordered a few dishes by phone and it was ready half an hour later. Excellent quality all round. They do singha beer too which is a bonus to quaff while you wait or to take away. Prices are more... More

Excellent food, high quality ingredients, great flavours. Best mixed starter I have ever had in a Thai restaurant. The staff waiting staff were efficient and quite friendly but not massively warm. The owner really nice and very kind squeezing us in at short notice. Can't wait to go again next month when I'm back.

The restaurant squeezed us in for the early sitting as time we wanted was booked out- definitely book in advance, for Friday and Saturdays I'd guess a week minimum. We had a couple of starters to share which were good but pretty small. Dipping sauces were the same for both and were just sweet chilli. Had a couple of curry's... More

Our friends, with whom we are staying, have a house near Abersoch and we have dined out in the area many times over a number of years. However, we'd not previously tried The Coconut Kitchen but word of mouth persuaded us to try it and we were pleasantly surprised. The menu was excellent with a wide variety of dishes to... More

Second time we have visited this restaurant in the last couple of years and really enjoyed the food. Selection on menu was good the ingredients used were great. Service was timely and friendly and the restaurant was busy with all tables taken when we arrived. I understand the restaurant is run by a husband and wife team and the wife... More

We enjoy Thai food and were delighted to find a Thai restaurant tucked away in this small Welsh town. Decent portions, delicious eating. Be prepared to wait if you're going after 6:30pm. Parking is limited. They do take reservations, but unnecessary if you go at opening time (5:30pm).

Let me start by saying that Mrs Fujiboy loved her meal here - it was perfectly cooked and flavoured, in fact, it was one of the best Thai meals she had eaten, including in Thailand. My meal was a bit of a let down-I ordered a selection of starters including chicken satay and Thai sausage which were both overcooked. Chicken satay... More
