The Coconut Kitchen, located in the village of Abersoch in Wales, is renowned for its fresh, aromatic Thai cuisine. The dining room at The Coconut Kitchen - decorated with Oriental lamps and dark wooden furniture overlooks the harbour and has a warm, intimate vibe perfect for cosy dining, and the restaurant is a popular place for dates, nights out with friends and dinner parties. We love the innovative menu, and popular dishes include the char-grilled coriander sirloin steak with a garlic and chilli sauce served with stir-fried greens and sweet potato crisps; the King Prawn Panang Curry cooked in a creamy red curry sauce with lime leaves and Thai sweet basil; and the delicious lemongrass and ginger crme brulee.

Fantastic as always

Food is brilliant, service friendly and attentive. Has always been great on the many times that we have been. I think now our favourite Abersoch restaurant.

We visited on the last day of the New Year season and had a really lovely meal. The starters of fish cakes are really authentic though I could have taken a little more spice (but that's my palate!). I had the mains of Pad Thai which was really tasty. The restaurant is much smaller than I expected but it was... More

Dropped in for an early evening bite and ended up staying longer than just "tea". Beautiful fresh and tasty food at prices to suit any pocket.

Dropped in here last minute at 8pm on the 2nd Jan, the lad behind the bar managed to get us a table after 20 mins. Nice one. Everywhere else in Abersoch was full. Inside is pretty small but done nicely. The food...really nice. We eat out quite a lot and am pretty fussy, the menu is full of locally sourced... More

We managed to get a table for the last evening they were open for several weeks. The food and atmosphere here is always amazing. Difficult to pick out any dish because they are all beautifully cooked and really well presented. Great menu, really friendly staff and we already look forward to returning when they reopen.

We love Thai food and certainly not disappointed here! A smallish menu with all the classics, but have a specials menu on too. All very fresh ingredients with a big emphasis on locally caught/reared produce. I love the "Meeang Pla Grob" baby gem leaves filled with sea bass and chopped Thai herbs and spices with tamarind and palm sugar drizzle!... More

Ever had to feed 16 people at the last minute because your booking at Poquitos went South (they decided not to open that night). I called the coconut kitchen at 7.45pm They were full, as was everyone else in Abersoch. This was my 50th Birthday! Not a problem - By nine on the dot as agreed, they had stepped in... More

We were hoping to have dinner here while staying in the area for the weekend but I was conscious that it was popular, especially at the weekends. Luckily we called in as soon as they opened and were made very welcome, we then ate in splendid isolation until we had just about finished our meal. The staff were superb and... More

Can only give this restaurant praise. It was a Friday night and they squeezed us in. Great food and excellent service. Can't wait to go back.

We usually have to take away as its fully booked, however we got in on a Monday. Food great, especially prawn dishes, very good quality. Staff friendly, only negative was a big party that was clearly slowing proceedings, 2 hours with a 3 year old for a starter and main was pushing it. To balance this at least we weren't... More
