Description: The Coconut Kitchen, located in the village of Abersoch in Wales, is renowned for its fresh, aromatic Thai cuisine. The dining room at The Coconut Kitchen - decorated with Oriental lamps and dark wooden furniture overlooks the harbour and has a warm, intimate vibe perfect for cosy dining, and the restaurant is a popular place for dates, nights out with friends and dinner parties. We love the innovative menu, and popular dishes include the char-grilled coriander sirloin steak with a garlic and chilli sauce served with stir-fried greens and sweet potato crisps; the King Prawn Panang Curry cooked in a creamy red curry sauce with lime leaves and Thai sweet basil; and the delicious lemongrass and ginger crme brulee.

We have been to this restaurant on a few occassion now and the food never fails to impress. A slick operation with friendly service and some great local beers in bottles Make sure you book on a weekend night but would 100% recommend this place

Having visited the Coconut Kitchen at various times with friends, I can honestly say that this is one of the best restaurants in the area. It isn't cheap to eat here, and it is often very very busy, but it is a lovely place to go for a treat and the sweet potato with coriander chips are to die for!!!... More

The restaurant was strongly recommended by my children, in their early 30s, so I wondered whether mid sixties 'old fogeys' like us would find it as good. Never fear! It was brilliant! It was a 'full on' Friday night, with large noisy groups, but this seemed to add too the fun, and in no way detracted from the evening. Although... More

My wife and I had a fantastic meal here, we booked for the Friday night which is just as well as the restaurant was full. The food isn't cheap but the quality more than makes for it. The selection starter gives a lovely spread of Thai food and the main meal just oozes quality. My only regret is having driven... More

I don't particularly revel in writing a poor review, but to be honest I feel that the Coconut kitchen's ranking as Abersoch's number one restaurant is not justified and so i feel I should share my recent negative experience of dining here.I left the restaurant feeling utterly ripped off,for some reason they seem to think that they can getaway with... I’m very sorry that you left our restaurant feeling “ripped off” we have not been in business for 8 years by having customers leaving us feeling like this, so we take your comments very seriously. We are not a cheap restaurant, I agree but I would also not call £14.95 for your complete confit duck dish fine dining prices either... More

I dined here with my partner last night. We eat in Thai restaurants in the UK, Thailand & internationally. The staff were friendly & efficient. Our food wasn't authentic Thai food though, unsurprising given that there wasn't one Thai member of staff working in the kitchen or waiting on. We shared a starter platter, our chicken satay skewers were small,... More

I’m sorry that you did not enjoy your experience in our restaurant. Preechaya, my wife is the head chef (She is Thai, from Pak Chong, Nakon Ratchasima province or Korad as it is commonly known) we recently had a baby who is now 5 months old and so she now rarely works during service but she is still in charge... After a lovely meal last summer I was keen to eat here again when we visited in September. I was not disappointed! The atmosphere and service were both great. It is a lovely place to eat whether with friends, family or out for a romantic meal. It may not look much from the outside but don't let that put you... More

This is simply the best restaurant in Abersoch. The food is just stunning and the ambience and service top class. Can't wait to return next summer.
