Standard slipped?

The menu is now less exciting and the quality of the food... More

This is a lovely old pub/hotel with comfy seats and a good choice of ales. Big meals, a starter and a main was almost too much. Not too expensive either. Friendly staff. A beautiful restaurant, providing food of a very high standard.

You'll be spoilt for choice at this restaurant. The menu is great and the cooking matches. Particularly liked the confit of lamb shoulder, an absolute triumph. What else to eat in Wales but lovely lamb!

Visited the Castle on many occasions and are never disappointed, website said they served Sunday Lunch until 8pm and as it was one of those Sundays when only a Sunday Lunch would suffice we headed there at 5.30. Unfortunately we were told that they'd finished serving Sunday lunch :-(. We were disappointed but by then I had a large glass... More

Went here for an early evening drink. There was a long queue at the bar and the staff appeared stressed. My white wine was served slightly warm. The bar area is basic and not very welcoming. In the end, we decided to sit outside in their seating area. This was also not very welcoming as it lies next to the... More

Well, we had a lovely meal here on our holiday so we came back again and ordered the same food again, as it had been so nice, but mine was EVEN nicer! They did me special 'no gluten gravy' which was great. I had the slow cooked lamb which was lovely the first time but then I had it with... More

Have been eating at this restaurant for over 30 years through various changes of owner/kitchen staff. When ownership last changed the new owners brought in an excellent crew who really brought the place up to scratch. The bread basket with roasted garlic was a treat, food hot, fresh and varied, as word got around the place was buzzing. Visited today... More

Nice enough food, pretty limited choice and quite small portions. Friendly staff and good service. Quite expensive for what it was.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Castle Restaurant. Rump steak with yummy chips" cooked and presented well. Bit on the pricey side but a good meal. Service was a little bit slow and maybe a bit of soft / romantic background music would be nice? Overall we would recommend having a meal at The Castle.
