We went to the location over on Poplar. Very good, had the catfish bites, okra, picked green tomatoes, sweet potato fries, and blackened salmon. Very friendly server at the bar have us soda to go. It is a noisy place and for a soul for restaurant there were few blacks which may be indicative of the area it was in.

My husband and I went on a weekday for lunch. Seated right away. Very friendly, courteous hostess. Drink order was taken right away and so was food order. Received our food & drinks promptly. There was a good lunch crowd. Not totally packed. Just the right amount of tables taken. Very enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere. I chose the 'Cuban Sandwich with... More

I've been going to the midtown location for years. This new location is closer to my home in East Memphis so I was very excited. The restaurant decor is loft-like and clean. Service is excellent. Catfish and sandwiches are excellent as usual. The only problem I had was with the Smoked Pork Chops. They were so tough they were basically... More

Need I say more! Fried tomatoes are great, but the pickling added a sweet flavor. Absolutely delicious appetizer. I also had the pork tenderloin poboy. This meal was huge!!! The sides were great. The cabbage with sausage was different and spectacular! The zucchini squash was refreshing. The collards were incredibly salty. The fries and macaroni were seasoned well and tasty.... More

I spotted this place the night before. The SOUL FISH CAFE.....soul and fish.....hmmmmmmm. When I pulled in I noticed a good variety of local license plates which usually means there is something good going on. They are busy so I sit at the bar so Iittle ole me doesn't take up a table. I ordered the Blackened Catfish. Wow! Big... More

I am reviewing the Soul Fish Cafe I visited on Poplar Ave. I love that this place has whole fried catfish! Hardly any catfish place has whole fried fish anymore. The slaw was fresh and the hushpuppies hot. I had a cold beer with my meal and got great service in a pleasant atmosphere.

Went here for a late lunch after visiting the nearby children's museum. Had a very good meal - fried catfish and chicken. Prices were reasonable, and food very good. Nice, casual place for a family meal.

Had the Oyster Po'boy and boy was it delicious. It was loaded with fried oysters and not over cooked and very moist. Plus, it was around $10. A good deal!

One of my favorite places to stop in when I'm in Memphis! Most recently, I had the shrimp po-boy, really liked it. We started out with catfish bites which were good. My friend had the vegetable plate with greens, always a winner.

This was the best meal we had in Memphis. We had catfish, blackened and fried, and they were both great. So moist and fresh tasting, no trace of any off fishyness. Greens were good. The black eyed peas could have been cooked a little more but they tasted great. We started with fried pickles. They were good I guess, we... More
