Just like you like it

When I tell you I highly recommend this place. Please Believe Me! Fish melts in your mouth, hush puppies seasoned to perfection and the list goes on.

For really scrumptious experience get the whole catfish dinner. The fish is wonderful, flaky and cooked to perfection (not overdone or raw), breaded the traditional southern cornmeal way and seasoned perfectly (not too salty or bland)! Visiting from Maryland; back visiting hometown Memphis and had to go to Soul Fish twice for the catfish. The fried okra ain't bad either!

Memphis is known for its world-famous barbecue. They also have terrific fried chicken at Gus', but it's taken me a while to find a decent catfish place in town. Some Memphis friends we were visiting suggested the Soul Fish Cafe, so we headed there. In the South, catfish is traditionally served with hush-puppies, white beans, and slaw. While Soul Fish... Ate at the Soul Fish Cafe today and had the crawfish poboy with cajun cabbage. It was the best poboy I've ever had. Food seemed fresh, was hot, and delicious. I will be back and would highly recommend it.

It's a popular place with good service but the food was just so-so. My wife's pork chop was flavorful but a bit overcooked. MY oyster po-boy was a bit chewy. Not like I remember in New Orleans. The desert, mud slide, was not what we had hoped for. They do pack the folks in so I may give them another... More

Their catfish, mac & cheese and hush puppies are some of the best I've had. Little hole in the wall place with a very creative interior.

It was great to be back in Memphis for a visit and Soul Fish is one of the things that hasn't changed. Both the catfish and the blackened salmon were spot on, especially the salmon which was neither too spicy nor too salty as blacked things sometimes are. I loved the mac and cheese side dish. The zucchini was ok... More

If you're looking for a good local place with amazing food, great service and a casual atmosphere, this is the place. Highly recommend the crawfish tacos and cucumber/tomato salad. Great place!

The wait on a Friday at 1pm was about 15 minutes. Staff was friendly and attentive even as busy as they were. Good fried catfish, not great, just good. The fried okra was awesome. I'd go back if in the area again. Would rate 3.5 if that was an option.
