We ate lunch here. The restaurant is conveniently located adjacent to the National Civil Rights Museum, so a perfect place to eat after touring. The restaurant was hopping and the line long but another ordering window was opened immediately. Ordering from the extensive menu was easy, except for deciding what to order. One eats at long tables communally or smaller... More

I have always gone to the Rondavue for ribs while in Memphis. Today I tried another place and was shocked. The dry ribs are great they were as good or maybe better than any in Memphis. I will say they are not as friendly as the Rondavue but my review is all about the food. It was great.

Central came highly recommended from friends in Nashville. My husband and I stopped here for lunch, and the place was packed. You walk up to the front counter, order your meal, receive a receipt with a number and your drink cups, go find a seat inside or outside, get your drinks from a self serve drink area, and wait for... It's a walk up and order place and the food comes out so fast that you know it's made in batches. I would have liked a little more love put into it as it felt like a cafeteria. The BBQ was okay, but I wasn't going home remembering it and needing it!

Best BBQ in the world might be a *little* over the top, but it is definitely the best I have ever eaten: the ribs are the meatiest ribs I've ever seen: tender, juicy and delicious. Order dry or wet, and then choose from a range of sauces. This is an EXTREMELY CASUAL place: stand in line to place your order,... More

Went here after researching tripadvisor and were not disappointed. This was the first BBQ we had here so the bar was high for everything else. You have to get the nachos , superb. We split a pork sandwich that was just as good.prices reasonable the location we visited seemed to be in a residential area with lots of locals. If you... More

Good grub as I expected & reasonably priced. I have had better but still worth the experience as consistent at all locations. You won't leave hungry. No dislikes.

After a recommendation received at the Visitor's Center, we arrived on a Sunday evening (3/23) and ordered a large slab of ribs-half wet, half dry to share between two of us. What a huge disappointment! The meat was so tough we could barely chew/pull it off of the bones. This meat was most definitely NOT slow-cooked! I have to say,... More

This was our first visit to Memphis and we were really excited about trying authentic Memphis BBQ. We ordered a full slab done half and half, smoked pulled chicken and half order of BBQ nachos. Good staff and good atmosphere but the food was average at best. My ribs were dry, even on the end that had been mopped with... More

My brisket sandwich was served dry and room temperature and even the warmed up sauces couldn't make it right. I'm sorry to say the packed precooked brisket from Walmart was better. I should have gotten the ribs which looked fabulous. The pulled pork sandwich served with slaw was very good. French fries were good also. There was a bit of... More
