Pleasant experience and finally something in the south that represented a diner

For 2 weeks I've been traveling through the south of the U.S. looking for something that slightly resembled a diner, and this was finally somewhere that did just that! And was not just a fast food outlet. The inside had character, a great atmosphere with good service and was definitely unique! The... read more

First time here.. didn't love it... didn't hate it. Was told the pancakes were amazing... they were ok. The biscuits and gravy were suppose to be best in town. I didn't care for the gravy, but the biscuits were good. My sisters eggs Benedict was very good though. Wait staff was super nice though... and the service was super fast!

The restaurant was recommended by a bellman at The Peabody. It was within walking distance. Our waitress was wonderful! I ordered two scrambled eggs (HUGE), bacon, biscuits and gravy. The waitress warned me it was a lot of food--she was correct. Thankfully, she brought the biscuits and gravy first! DELICIOUS!!!! Equally good as my grandma's! My daughter had the waffle... More

We have been too Blue Plate many times over the years. I'm sad to say the food quality has done a nose dive as has the décor. The upholstered booths all showed signs of extreme wear. The bottom half of our booth was cracked and ripped to such an extent the foam padding was not only poking out but highly... More

Parking was very tight when entering the parking lot. Overall the service was adequate, it seemed as if our server was slower than others, so maybe it is usually better. The best part of the breakfast we had was the biscuits and gravy, the rest of the meal was pretty bland. I had the Apple Cinnamon waffle, the waffles were... More

Apple cinnamon pancakes made to perfection. Hot coffee. Attentive staff. Menu is great, you wouldn't think breakfast could be made in so many ways.

Home-style décor and tasty food. Waitress was pleasant, however host was a bit rude and direct. If your party is not present in the foyer of the restaurant, the host will not seat you. Using the excuse of "my spouse/friend is trying to find parking" will not be accepted by the host. Besides the poor bed side manner, the breakfast... More

Saw lots of different state tags in the parking lot because the locals probably don't go here. I was excited to get some good southern grits and was really disappointed in the grits they served. They were very runny and not cooked enough. Biscuits were delicious but the gravy they served had no meat. Overpriced for what we got.

On 04/14/2015, I took my wife for breakfast . We had to wait over 5 minutes to be greeted by a very rude waitress. We sat on a booth with nasty table. The lighting were coming out of the sealing, walls were nasty. We ordered breakfast, and the pancakes were nasty, the ham/cheese omelette loos like scramble eggs with ham... More
