the best breakfast in Memphis, just don't let them keep pouring you coffee over and over again, you'll get out of there like a basket case. Every time they pass by they fill in your coffee cup. I had to move mine to the wall side. Bt the fresh fruit and biscuits and pancakes are GREAT. Go early to get... More

The atmosphere of Blue Plate is great. It's a cheerful restaurant filled with bright blue and yellow decor and comfy booths. The food is...good. It's not the best, it's not spectacular, but it's good. Their wait staff, however, has rushed us out of there more than once (actually the same waitress each time) and tends to make you feel unwanted... More

This place has been around for a while and is very popular however, my last visits left the impression that they are riding on the old reputation. Turkey & dressing was room temp, dressing was dry, gravy, while hot was kind of congealed looking...weird. Turnip greens were fresh and black eyed peas were hot when served.

It's busy! And you should know already that this is a sign of a very good restaurant. But they have lots of tables and if you hit it right, the wait isn't too long. On the way out, however, it looked like a 20 minute wait by late morning on a Saturday. Huge menu. You will find something you like.... More

Blue Plate Cafe is a MUST if you like a fine and filling Southern Style Breakfast! Grits, Cheese-Grits, Eggs (done how you like them), Toast, Biscuits, or Pancakes, with freshly-brewed coffee. If you live in or visit Memphis... Blue Plate Cafe is a must!

Arrived on a Tuesday morning around 8. Parking lot was full. We walked in and immediately we were seated. We both ordered omelets. The biscuits and gravy were amazing. Reminded me of my grandmother's, flaky and fluffy. My western omelet was great, well cooked and full of veggies and meat. The hashbrowns are more along the lines of country potatoes,... More

Great place to stop in for breakfast. There is normally a very long line. Food was great - home style cooking.
