...while walking in Memphis...

While traveling, we like to check out the local flavors, and by using TripAdvisor, found this place. The ribs were incredible, enough meat for the two of us to split the order. The service was pretty good, and the decor was very reflective of Memphis and the Blues.

The band performing the night we were there were great. We had dinner here on our first night in Memphis. Had to walk back to the hotel to get our ID - they card everyone, even my husband who at 52 has gray hair and glasses. Was actually kind of funny. Food was just okay. Expected better BBQ in Memphis,... More

We were not dissapointed when we had our dinner at Blues City Cafe. Our choices were the BBQ ribs and the Cajun shrimps , utterly delicious. There's plenty of food for five us. The service was very quick and the food was great.

The portions and seasoning are great stuff, even bought some of their signature rub for my own home cooking, also pretty good original louisiana style hot sauce on hand

This past weekend 24-26 July 2015 a group of biker friends came to town for a rally. They (17 total) wanted to eat on Beale Street so I decided to take them to Blues City Cafe since my wife said the ribs were good...which I was told by my friends they are good. However, I ordered the stuffed mushrooms but... More

While visiting Memphis and unable to get into BB Kings, we wandered across the street to Blues City Cafe. We were welcome and immediately brought to a table by a window where we could watch the interesting people walk by. Things move fast in this place, so as soon as waters were ordered (it was ungodly hot that day) you... More

The front desk staff at our hotel recommended Blues City and it did not disappoint. Right on Beale Street, you feel the Memphis vibe in this restaurant. The BBQ is insanely good. Delicious gumbo. Tasty shrimp. It was all good. Plus, super-friendly and attentive wait-staff. I was also grateful for the misting fan they had out in front of the... More

Ok, beware of the steaks! Not great! However my rating comes from the service and the entertainment! The loaded fries appetizer is AMAZING with pulled pork! Eat that for sure! ASK TO SIT IN THE BACK WHERE KEITH IS! (Aka Ron or the guy who looks like Sam Kennison). He is hilarious and more fun than the bar itself! We... More

Get the ribs and enjoy the Blues in the back music room. We had a great afternoon and evening on Beale Street and this was our favorite stop. Don't miss it!

Ribs do literally fall off the bone. Very busy place. If you don't mind the down to earth atmosphere, it is great. Very casual. Nice people. We had Charlie wait on us and it was his birthday. Lots of food on each plate and reasonable prices. They were very fast both in seating us and in serving us. One area... More
