Memphis food & live music

One of the more popular bars on Beale Street, with a large food menu, huge portions & friendly staff. They have live music every night at the Blues City Band Box next door, with the Memphis 3 regularly playing a collection of hits from Sun Studios. Decent, but I found that BB Kings across the... read more

Had the catfish and fries, it was pretty ok, but not the best I ever had. There was a lot of people there, but the food came out pretty fast too, which was nice. I was later told I needed to try the Apple Dumpling, because "it's to die for," but sadly I wasn't ever able to make it back... More

We had a late lunch and we weren't too hungry but was told to try the desserts here. We had the pecan pie, apple crumble and something chocolate - they were all delicious! Highly recommend. Service was great.

We stopped in for lunch today. We were lured off Beale St by the smell. The atmosphere was upbeat and the music was great. Everyone was friendly and having a good time. I ordered the Best Meal on Beale. It was Half a rack of ribs, fries, a catfish filet, coleslaw, and baked beans. My husband ordered the Cowboy Steak... More

Having arrived in Memphis on a Monday afternoon late in January, we inquired at our Holiday Inn desk about a good place to eat. Two suggestions later, we picked Blues City Café on Beale Street, just two blocks from the hotel. Oh, WOW, were these good ribs! Great sauce, tender, fall off the bone, lip-smackin' good! We both agreed these... More

We pass through Memphis every year and are never disappointed by Blues City Cafe. They have great ribs and are located at the top of Beale St. They style is simple but absolutely delicious. This year we got the ribs to go and took them home with us. Don't miss a stop blues City Cafe.

Ribs at the Blues City Café are one of those things that you can't miss when visiting Memphis/Beale street. Don't mind the line, as this will be so worth the wait and there is a steady flow so you won't have to wait for long. Not fancy at all, but comfy boots and tables and chairs. Large selection of meals,... More

We were told by the hotel doorman that if we want Ribs this is the place to go. We were told this is where the locals go. Well the doorman did not lie. The ribs were awesome. I would say the best I have ever had. The staff was super friendly my husband and I really enjoyed the experience. We... More
