My family and I ate here while on a one night stay in Memphis when traveling back home from Texas. We really enjoyed the food here and the atmosphere was lively. I highly recommend visiting the Blues City Cafe while in Memphis.

A down-home restaurant on Beale street, with a basic menu that includes several smoked and barbecue dishes. Our favorite was the half-slab of ribs, along with some locally-brewed beer. Both were excellent, and that seemed to be the opinion of everyone dining around us. You can watch the food being smoked, or you can relax and listen to the blues... More

This was the best food we ate during a vacation that included Memphis, Little Rock, Dallas, and Fort Worth.

Went here with my husband as he had previously been here and had a great meal. Unfortunately this wasn't repeated on our visit. We ordered a half rack which arrived about 90 seconds later (I kid you not). Both our meals were warm but not hot. I realise that the ribs are slow cooked so not freshly done but please... More

We stopped in for the barbeque, being from Kansas City we had to try Memphis BBQ. This place has great food and seafood dishes. We split a the half rack and ordered a side of shrimp, the dish was huge and yummy! We would go back!

Stopped in for lunch one day and had ribs, of course. The place had a funky dive bar/diner atmosphere to it, and we were seated quickly in the back area near the bar. There were a couple of guys on stage providing some great live blues music, and the service was quick. The ribs were delicious, and the price wasn't... More

Ok, so we originally wanted to go to Charles Vergos Rendezvous but we weren't aware they were closed on Monday's. 😕So I busted out my phone and went to Trip Advisor and found Blues City Cafe which has pretty good reviews and it was literally right in front of us so we went for it. Well the food was pretty... More

We are still talking about the loaded fries a week later. Prices are good (compared to B B King restaurant)! Nice casually place to eat.

Ate here while in Memphis, I had the shrimp skillet and this was really good, sizzling hot and I'd say the best shrimp I had anywhere else we went on our travels, my husband had the full rack of ribs, he enjoyed but had to ask for more sauce as he found them slightly dry. All in all good service... More
