Eh...

I came here because I love wine bars. The food was okay-- I had the salmon with duck confit gnocchi. Seemed expensive for what I got though. The wine was good. However, the atmosphere was dark and smoky, a bit dismal and dank. I came here with friends hoping for a nice place to drink wine and chat... read more

Bad food and not cheap either. Was much better before it moved to it's current location. Resembles more of a dive bar than a bistro. Nice fireplace and cool stained glass ceiling, but that is about it.

Perhaps it's me, but when I see the words Wine and Bistro together it conjures up a certain image. Like well lit areas with people enjoying flights of wine. This place was dark, dank, and full of smoke. All that was missing was the middle aged, clothing challenged, slow dancing drunk, chain smoking woman yelling "freebird!!" next to the jukebox.... This is just about my Favorite 'Go-To' spot in Memphis........and it's only about 10 blocks from my house!!! Add great food, great service, nice ambience, leather couches and 'gypsy jazz' about once a week, and you've got a winner. Nice wine list, and the place has even got a nice-sized out-door deck running up the side of the restaurant, wonderful... More

Down in the Delta it seems people really love their comfort food! It's hard to find things that are not breaded and fried or soaking in sauce. Chardonnay is a welcome haven for interesting dishes featuring fresh veggies, imaginative use of ingredients complimented by a large list of mostly California vintages. Temptations abound on the menu! My friend had two... More

I didn't realize there were still restaurants that allowed smoking. The food was decent, atmosphere a bit dreary, a great wine selection but all the customers who were smoking annoyed me. The circulation of stale air was overwhelming; needless to say, that will be my last visit.

With the name of the restaurant you would expect a better wine list. Boring would be the word to describe it. The food here is ok, for Memphis standards. The thing that really gets to me is I have been in this restaurant multiple times because I really wanted to give it a fair chance, and every time I was... More

It had been a while since I'd visited Le Chardonnay and I'm sorry for that. This place has excellent food, wine, and staff. It seems like time stands still while your enjoying your meal. I do plan on making a monthly trip there.

I came here on my first date with my future wife it was cozy eclectic and the chef had a nice touch. well they've moved its bigger and not so cozy the bar crowd from happy hour was long over due for some coffee and the crushed mussel shells in my dinner was disappointing. I should have stuck with the... More

Have been to Le Chardonnay on several visits. Food is good and the atmosphere is laid back and fun. Great service and because they share the kitchen with the restaurant next door, you can sometimes pull things off that menu as well (if you have a good waiter/waitress). Great after work stop off place and you often run into some... More
