Don't be fooled by the tatty exterior and interior!

We were recommended to visit this bar and restaurant whilst in Memphis. We went in through the door on the main street and almost walked out again. It looked like a creepy bar in a derelict building. We decided to have a very quick drink, and asked if we could take a look around. The upstairs... read more

Was told to hit this place up on Sunday Nights. Jazz jams with a great old feel to it. A lot of history in this one place. And the Soul Burgers................Oh man. 1 isn't enough. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves Music.

I never lie on these things. First the bad: only beer and can get smokey late at night. Now the good: great jukebox, great people watching, and really a microcosm of Memphis-ness. I know people swear by the soul burger. And, admittedly, it is good (get a double). But, I think its fame is a little bit rooted in how... More

Fun little bar to grab a beer with friends. It is a hole in the wall but it has an interesting history.

I arrived early in downtown Memphis to catch the AMTRAK to Chicago and had until 9:45 PM to wait. I took the streetcar from the AMTRAK station uptown to eat supper. I ate supper at the Flying Saucer and walked around for an hour or so, then I ate supper again at a the Flying Fish. I waddled onto the... More

Just a hole in the wall that has a long history. Yes, it is a dive bar that serves only beer and the Soul Burger. But the beer was cold and the Soul Burger delicious. Step inside and you enter another world. Check out the juke box.

As a local Memphian, this is on my list of places I take out of town visitors. The soul burgers are good, but I mostly take them for the experience. This is a real dive bar, with loads of character. I LOVE this place. Dimly lit, fantastic history, great jukebox. There's nothing else like it here in town (that I... More

Dimly lit, place your order at the bar, and they bring it to you. Cheeseburgers and beer is what they are known for. Burger patty was fairly plain but the onions, pickles, and dressing provided some good flavor. No fries, but you get a bag of chips. Beer was nice and cold. Bathroom was gross...and this was lunchtime. Hate to... More

Food is good! Building is old, historic and creepy! We loved it! Can't wait to go back! Upstairs bartender is someone you must sit a spell with!

Earnestine & Hazel's was recommended to us for the best burger in Memphis. Luckily for us we just happened upon the joint driving around downtown. This is definitely a "joint" or a "dive", but the history of the building, the brothel, and the various movies shot at the bar is well worth the stop. The burger was pretty good too... More
