Haunted bar

This place is definitely worth a visit if you are in Memphis. We didn't eat there but here the soul burger is susposed to be good. The upstairs was an old brothel. The bartenders were very friendly. This place looks like a total dive but has great character and takes you back in time There are... read more

This place is overflowing with character! They are best known for their Soul Burger. You've got to have one! There's always music playing if it's from the juke box or a live band! They say it's haunted! Go and check it out for yourself!!

This place was voted the best Dive bar in the States and it definitely ranks up there. This is a real spit on the floor job with toilets upstairs having a bathtub for its clients years ago. Yes you guessed it, it used to be an old brothel. The place is frequented by all types but all are friendly. It... More

Earnestine & Hazel's is a former house of ill repute now operating as a dive bar. It's shabby, beat up and supposedly haunted. The bartenders; Keenan, Karen and Nate have been there forever and manage to keep the chaos from becoming total chaos. It's on South Main, so walking distance from most of the downtown hotels. I'd recommend using Uber... More

We stopped into this dive bar after getting some BBQ on Main St. It is certainly a dive in every sense of the word; however, it was a great place to down some cheap beers (happy hour runs until 8:00) and listen to their juke box. We didn't know that smoking was permitted indoors in Memphis; the visit would've been... More

This place looks like a hole in the wall, and it is. They have a selection of drinks but if you want food they only have 'soul burger and chips'. This building was a lady of the night house until the mid-1990's and we were able to walk around and go upstairs. I didn't use the bathroom, but I wouldn't... More

Deep in the heart of Memphis, this bar is a quality establishment serving ice cold domestic and foreign beers along with a tasty looking soul burger directly behind the bar. This is a historic building and the sense of history is palpable, even the floor looks historic and according to the Tampa Bay Times, the bar was originally a brothel-turned-juke... More

I give Ernestine & Hazel's four stars for being one of my favorite "Dive" bars in the country. The jukebox has a great song selection, great burgers for last night and a great friendly bar staff that even took us on a ghost tour!

We were recommended to visit this bar and restaurant whilst in Memphis. We went in through the door on the main street and almost walked out again. It looked like a creepy bar in a derelict building. We decided to have a very quick drink, and asked if we could take a look around. The upstairs looks like the building... More

Was told to hit this place up on Sunday Nights. Jazz jams with a great old feel to it. A lot of history in this one place. And the Soul Burgers................Oh man. 1 isn't enough. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves Music.
