Great bar! It had everything: cheap beer, amazing juke box, loads of history and a perfect ambiance. I can't wait to go back.

It is impossible to describe this place but I'll try. It looks derelict from the outside and perhaps not a place you would want to go but enter the front door and your are transported back to an era long ago. Clarence the barman was our man of the holiday, a real hoot. He gave us a tour of the... More

We stopped here as recommended by a friend who is a "local". So glad she suggested it because we probably would have missed it. Never heard of a "soul burger" before, so we were curious to check it out. The burger was super good, and the place just ooozes character and history. Really enjoyed talking to Clarence while the burgers... More

This historic bar is a great place to go that even many locals don't know about. It's a little off the beaten path, but the atmosphere is great and they have some of the best late night burgers in town. Delicious!

I can't believe that I'm a "local" and had never been to this place until yesterday. If you love old, spooky, and different then you have to check it out. We may have gone too early, it was pretty quiet (we left at midnight). You can roam around upstairs in the various, dimly lit rooms, and sit wherever you want.... More

Perfect place to hang out with friends, drink some beers, and have the most amazing burgers. Don't expect anything fancy but be ready for some good burger!

This is a dive but a good dive. We went to see the place and have a drink and ended up having the "Soul Burger" also. The burger was good but the place is different. We took the tour upstairs because of the history of the place and I recommend you go upstairs if you visit this place. The upstairs... More

It is definitely a dive bar but has some of the best history to offer in the city. The cooks all know it and they'll share the stories of Ray Charles and how it was once a brothel. The ambiance is unforgettable. It is the home of the award-winning soul burger. Every time someone from out of town visits, my... More

We walked into what we thought was an abandoned bar in the early afternoon and got an impromptu tour of the coolest spookiest juke joint in town, Played Ray Charles' piano upstairs, hoped the haunted jukebox would play but had to be satisifed with a coke and some living history.

I loved the creepy aspect of the upstairs. After reading the reviews about the old brothel and mention of ghosts, I headed straight upstairs to explore!! We got there around 11 pm and there was NO ONE around. I had to just guess about where to go and finally got to the end of the hall where a paper was... More
