great place for Sunday brunch. Try the bloody mary and the eggs benedict! Yumbo. A unique place. Its been around for years but I just discovered it. Not sure why it took me so long! I will go there again!

The Beauty Shop Bar is located in Cooper-Young, a neighborhood that is slowly gentrifying and includes some great restaurants, which has retained some of its vintage hair-dryers. (I sat under one at dinner—though not with the hood pulled down!). It is said that Priscilla Presley got her hair done at this shop. Like many edgy, new restaurants, the chef often... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Memphis. It is quirky and unique with all sorts of dining options. We made reservations for an early dinner and it filled up quickly as we dined. I love the interior-- it really looks like a beauty shop inside. The service was excellent, the cocktails refreshing, and the dessert (blueberry gelato!) was... More

Had dinner here and loved the combinations of flavors. They offer novel dishes without pretense. It would be impossible to not find something delicious on their menu.

I've always wanted to try this place, but I honestly didn't know exactly where it was. I happened upon it last weekend while strolling around the Cooper-Young area by myself. They were all booked up with reservations, but I was able to sit at the bar, which was fine. The initial service was a little slow, but it got better... More

Everything about our meal here was wonderful. The restaurant is busy and a little crowded but in a way that makes it feel alive and fun. The service and food were excellent. The decor is very unique. Plan to spend more than you would at a BBQ place or a chain restaurant but it's definitely worth it.

This place is so different from the norm! Apparently it was a beauty shop and there are hairdriers incorporated into the dining booths - I was told Priscilla Presley had her hair done here when it was a beauty shop, but I can't verify that! The food was delicious and the staff extremely helpful and courteous. Would definitely recommend.

Having been recommended to this place not only for the food but also the unusual setting, this was one of the 1st restaurants we went to. It's a little out of the centre so the journey takes you through what most of Memphis is, a run down town with more derelict shops & offices than gravestones in Elmwood Cemetery (see... More

The decor, staff, and food were all awesomely quirky. We sat at the bar which was the best show in town. It was jumpin' back there for Sunday brunch! There was a constant flow of mimosas and bloody Marys. If you're any sort of foodie, you must pay them a visit.
