European Dining and great service

go with someone who appreciates French food and has been to Europe at least once. This isn't your typical American restaurant,. Because it's not American. HAD pate for hor d'oeuvers, and filet. Got to take your time eating there, no rush, and hopefully good conversation. Great wait staff.

Luckily got a parking spot in the fairly limited lot, be prepared to park on the street and bring an umbrella if its raining. Once inside, we were warmly greeted and taken to our table. Service was prompt, friendly, and professional. Started with the lobster pancakes due to the high reviews. They are very strong in mushroom flavor, probably should... More

Erling Jensen is the very best of fine dining in Memphis!!! Year after year, the food is unique in flavor profile and presentation. Service is the most professional we have experienced in Memphis. The wine list is impressive and the desserts are to die for. For special occasions, no restaurant holds a candle to an Erling Jensen dining experience. If... More

Honestly, the chef tasting and wine pairing is ALWAYS the way to go! Went with my cousins to celebrate their 21st anniversary. We had: Foie Gras, Jumbo lump Crab with hollandaise and caviar, buffalo tenderloin, mountain elk, lamb, quail, and chocolate souffle'. We were STUFFED, but it was oh, so worth it! I would recommend everything on the menu!

We had not been to Erling's for some time. It was great to come "home." This experience was excellent in all regards from food to service to ambiance. The evening was capped with being sent home with homemade cookies. Our anniversary evening was even more special by this dining experience. Thanks to all and we will see you again soon!

EJ remains one of our top "special occasion" restaurants in Memphis. The service was quite good, though we did have to ask for drinks. The food (Lobster Crepes are to die for!;Elk was tasty; Filet was outstanding) is consistently exceptional. There is little not to like here. Yes, it is expensive, but it is definitely worth it for a special... More

I heard so much about EJ's…perhaps they had a 'bad night' but our entrees were mediocre, not much flavor…the shrimp appetizer was overcooked…for the cost the food was awful.

I had the incredible opportunity to dine in an amazing place near Memphis TN. This small quaint restaurant was located off of a main street and looked like a lovely home in a neighborhood. We were quickly greeted and taken to our table. The staff was so knowledgeable about the menu and the specials and could explain everything so wonderfully.... More

What a great find!! From menu design and plate presentation, through the whisper style service with a knowledgable staff, I could not fault a single element each aspect was great and my regret is that it took me this long to make a visit...so I say Et Voila and Well Done as I will be making a return visit.....to those...
