Whats all the hype???

Very laid back atmospher, food was good, but not as I expected from watching the t.v. show, Dinner and Dive. My gamily and I was so excited when we visited Memphis. But in my opinion, Starnes in Paducah KY was better. Interstate BBQ was good, but I would have liked to experience what I saw on the... read more

Have made several trips to Memphis but Interstate is the one BBQ joint I had not made it (to). My buddy and I arrived about 9 pm during the week and it was not crowded. We were greeted warmly by the lady at the counter and seated in the dining area where so many famous people have visited for Jim... More

We stopped in for an early Dinner on our way home from New Orleans! We are so glad that we did! We each ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries. Holy cow!!! This sandwich was huge and we had enough fries to feed a small village! So good and well priced. The place is small and nothing fancy, but who... More

On a recent trip through Memphis, we decided to try this BBQ institution. We stopped one Sunday afternoon for lunch. My pulled pork was just average - a filling lunch but nothing to write home about. My husband always tries the ribs. These were pretty bad. Dry. The meat had zero flavor. The fries were under cooked. And the service... More

BBQ is a very personal taste - especially in the South. We went with one Southerner(me), two Iowans and a Californian - highly varied backgrounds for BBQ! We all had the rib dinner with different sides. We all really liked the ribs served with a good slathering of sauce. A red sauce not too sweet or too spicy, very good... More

A small group of us went here on the recommendation of a local co-worker. The place reminded me of a converted Pizza Hut restaurant. Quickly ordering and food also came out fast. I had the large Pork rib dinner (about 5 bones) with a wet sauce. The sauce had a nice spice to it, baked beans and cole slaw were... More

I found myself headed for Fort Worth, Texas, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab some Memphis barbecue along the way. Interstate Bar-B-Q is a joint I've had on my Memphis list for a while now, so I thought I'd stop and check it out. This place has a fairly simple atmosphere, no fuss. The walls were filled... More

Why have a drive-thru at a BBQ restaurant if you don't intend on making it truly convenient for customers? (More than 20 minutes in the drive-thru line, even when yours is the only car in line). Then, the woman taking your order at the box is so rude (It's not, "Please pull forward." It's "Pull up!"). And don't ask her... More

I enjoy good food and am not too overly critical like some other reviews. I am straight forward, it is good or not good. This time I thought the food was good and I was satisfied. I do not place myself in the this bbq style is better than the other, etc. I was just looking for a decent meal,... More

We have seen this place highlighted on the Travel Channel and read about it in the book 1000 Places to See Before You Die. So this was a much anticipated stop while we were in Memphis for a short visit. Memphis is world renowned for their barbecue. This is one of the places that has found favor with those people...
