Early Dinner

We had been told of this place and spotted it late afternoon when we were passing by so booked in for an early dinner. Very pleasant and helpful waitress and the food was excellent. Slightly pricey but well worth it.

I was going to order the sweet potato encrusted catfish, but couldn't decide between the 2 & asked the waiter which to choose. He raved about the red snapper & said since it's so rare to get it in that would be the best choice because the chef loves to 'fool around' with different items. Well, the only 2 people that ordered... More

If you want to sit and eat, make a reservation. Basic American food done awesomely well. I prefer to sit at the bar, where they have a great drink list and full service food menu. You gotta try this place if you are visiting Memphis and are downtown.

We dined here Saturday night. Our food was wonderful and I ate every morsel of food on my plate. I had the goat cheese/greens salad and Chilean sea bass for an entree!! Ashley provided excellent service. The establishment is quaint and you need to make reservations.

This restaurant is one of my favorites. Beautiful and delicious food. It's a little pricey, but worth it. The scallops were wonderful, available as an appetizer or main course. Butternut squash crepes were a unique and wonderful side. The red snapper on a corn and rice pilaf was a super special of the night. The service and atmosphere are excellent.... More

I went to dinner here last week (5/13/15) with some business associates and was very pleased with the experience. The server was attentive (Jake, "From State Farm" LOL) and the food was sublime. I had the special of the night, which was a pork chop with greens and polenta, and a glass of wine. For dessert, I had Cookies and... More

McEwen's on Monroe is highly recommended. The service was great and the food even better. I had the Creole Spice Braise Pork Osso Buco with stone cheddar grits and spicy collards! I'm looking forward to going back soon

We went to McEwen's based upon internet reviews in celebration of our daughter's graduation from college. My husband had the pork osso bucco and claimed it was great. What I loved most about his dish, however, was the collard greens - who knew I loved collard greens?? I had wild caught salmon and the absolute best purple hull pea humus... More

Was in Memphis on a business trip. Came to McEwen's with 3 [local] colleagues. Interesting casual atmosphere. The appetizers all looked great. We chose the Jumbo shrimp and grits in chili BBQ broth, the BBQ duck confit enchiladas and Pea hummus with housemade flatbread. All were spectacular. I had never had shrimp and grits before - and now I see... More

I think this place has what it takes to be special. We were seated in the back near the kitchen. Not the best spot. The shrimp and grits appetizer surprised me in that the serving was tiny. I am used to a lot of grits and not so much shrimp. There was a tablespoon of grits on the plate, lots... More
