What a gem of a restaurant, in downtown Memphis a block off of Main Street. McEwen’s is small, intimate, upscale enough to be special, friendly enough that you feel comfortable. There is an elegant bar and tables on one side and more tables on the other side. High ceilings, brick walls, and local art all contribute to the ambiance. When... More

After 10 days on the road and quite a few barbecues it was good to sit down in a proper restaurant. The waitress was friendly, smiley and quietly efficient. We ordered an excellent Washington Riesling to go with my lobster risotto and snapper and my wife's duck enchiladas and wild salmon. The risotto was very good, although some may have... More

This restaurant was amazing!!! The food was special and there was something for anyone's taste!! The lobster risotto was so good and the filet was so tender. Our waiter was upbeat and ready with a suggestion of food or drink. We sat in the wine cellar which was an experience I had never had!! If in Memphis give this restaurant... More

The old saying 'three times lucky' is so à propos for this wonderful restaurant in downtown Memphis. It has become a staple during each of my visits to Memphis and I really look forward to it. The atmosphere is so welcoming, the staff is gracious and the food is simply excellent. My colleague couldn't get over the quality of the... More

Based on reviews of other travelers we ate at this restaurant and was not disappointed! I tried something totally out of my comfort zone and LOVED it! Our waiter was well informed and a seasoned pro. Our table was in the wine cellar which was private and intimate. This place is a rare jewel.

Stopped in on march 27 ordered the blackened fish pasta for entree and it was delicious my son had the Chilean sea bass and claimed it the best he has had. For appetizers we had stone ground grits with shrimp and spring rolls with dipping sauce. Both these items were great and left me wanting more for dessert we had... More

I took a fairly large group of business associates to McEwen's and, had it not been for its less than stellar selection of reasonably priced wines, I would have rated it "excellent." Our group is meeting at the Peabody and McEwen's is only a block away. I tried to make a reservation on-line, but was told the next opening at... More

Mid week, single, and at the bar. First, yes they have Tito's and great blue-cheese olives. Second, the House pour Merlot is great. third, the small plank steak with tater-tots and a wedge salad was just about perfect. So, in review, I enjoyed my simple meal. I'll be back! Dinner, without drinks or tip was $19
