Simply exquisite

I can see why reservations need to be way in advance, their signature dish was well worth the wait, the staff provided great service, and the atmosphere was perfect.

This was my third visit to IRIS but my first in the last 12 months. My experience this time can best be described as "disappointment". The restaurant setting was comfortable as usual and the server was generally professional. Iris does have a nice selection of wines. I began my meal by ordering the appetizer of fried oysters which was excellent.... More

Restaurant Iris regularly shows up at the top of various lists of the best restaurants in Memphis, and I will say that the recognition is well-deserved. I am by no means a restaurant snob (though I live in New York and have traveled a bit, so I've had my share of both excellent and not-so-excellent restaurant experiences); I will eat... More

While all the food at Restaurant Iris was excellent, I did not like the server. She acted friendly, but spoke the same script to all the tables (the rooms are small enough that everything can be overheard) and was rather full of herself. It was as if she, not the chef, was responsible for the great food. And I was... More

I have heard a lot about Iris from family and friends, and my husband and I were finally able to experience it for our 2nd wedding anniversary. Sometimes when you've been hyped up about a restaurant you have ridiculous expectations, but Iris met them and then some. Firstly, I love the ambience, it's an old renovated house, so there's tables... More

Iris could be one of the most elegant southern meals you will ever eat. Traditional dishes are made with a urban flair and the building has as much charm as the food itself. One of my favs.

Really you can leave it all on this- lobster knuckle sandwich, oyster salad, ravioli, Brussels sprouts. This is the perfect order to be totally pleased and stuffed. Each of these is off the salad or appetizer section.

We have been to Restaurant Iris several times and have yet to be disappointed. Each time the service and food is excellent. We have been twice on my birthday and they make it a special time. The menu is printed with your name and the table is festively decorated. All that said, it is not easy to get a reservation... More

Easy why this place has won so many awards. Ravioli with short ribs appetizer, steak with fried oysters and Gorgonzola. Call your cardiologist, but go with a smile. Excellent wine list, including good choices by the glass and half bottles. Gracious service. Comfortable rooms in a converted house.

Went there to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. Setting is fantastic- old house. Service was excellent. However the food was not worth the bill. They may have had an off night. Not sure. If you are not familiar with this establishment, if you go on a weekend, they only have sittings at 6:00 & 6:30, as well as 8:00 &... More
