If you're going to eat one meal in Memphis , eat at Restaurant Iris. It truly is fine dining at it's best with southern style! make your reservation early, a weekend seat can take a couple months planning. It's small, stylish and delish!

We have thought for years that Iris is the best restaurant in Memphis. On a recent visit (August 12) we were disappointed. The food was very good, but not outstanding. The service was not very good, not excellent. All in all, we were not wowed with the experience and will check out many other places before we return to Iris.

really nice atmosphere, indeed. really nice service, indeed. good food, indeed. on the other hand, though, the food doesn't keep up with rest. it's just okay, but not superb as the check would require. it might appear as a trap for tourists, a place where you eat reasonably good, in a very good location, but pay way too much for... Let me say in the beginning the more that I critique restaurants, the more I feel I must be totally truthful and not go with the flow. When I am honest with you, I am giving you my straightforward opinion and we all know opinions are based on many factors. Since my family and I have eaten pretty much all... More

Restaurant Iris is a very special restaurant and Overton Square is lucky to have it. I have had some of the best food I have ever eaten during my visits to this restaurant. First of all, make reservations way in advance because they are booked weeks in advanced and some people book a year in advance for holidays. Also, be... More

We chose Restaurant Iris for the first night of vacation, and we kind of wish we'd saved it for last. Of all the delicious places we ate---(some top-rated ones on Trip Advisor)...this was our favorite. Upon entering, the hostess asked us if we'd made reservations...which we had not. I didn't think it would be necessary on a Thursday night. But... More

Restaurant Iris is not a restaurant you go when you visit Memphis It's a reason to come to Memphis -but you better have a reservation. I won't say that everything I've ever eaten here is unforgettable but 3 of the best things I've ever eaten in my life were at Iris: scallop latte, surf & turf (not your father's surf... More

Located in what formerly was a residence, this beautiful eatery is small and intimate. The waitstaff are friendly and knowledgeable about the food and beverages. Menu is well rounded with small and large plates. I had a three course dinner starting with lump crab and avocados on local tomatoes. Amberjack on tomatoes and gulf shrimp was my entree. Creme brûlée... More

We came here on Saturday night and all in our party of 4 were pretty impressed. I have always been a fan of dining in an old charming and quiet house like this with its small rooms and creaky floors. The dim lights, candles, cool artwork and the sounds of the waitstaff's footsteps hustling around all night provided a comfortable... More

This was our second visit to Iris and it was almost as lovely as the first. We had a great table by the fireplace and the ambiance was quiet & romantic. The fried oysters’ app was fantastic. My husband had the BBQ shrimp app & he said it was great. His New York strip was very tender with great flavor.... More
