Decent Bar

Overall, decent place. The food is good. I like the sliders and fries. Drinks are average. The prices are average. The 3 sliders and fries was $9.99. You can smoke in here which was a turnoff for me.

This is one of those places that is not for everyone. It is one of a Very few places in Memphis were there is smoking inside a restaurant or bar. It is a great place to go, have a beer, a cigar and a snack (if your up to that) in a 1930 or 40ish bar. My lovely wife and... More

My wife and I along with my brother and his wife were looking for a place to eat. We saw this place and decided to check it out. We were disappointed with it. It was noisy and had very little room to sit down. It looked like they had good food. We walked in and walked out.

Other than the crab soup which was great, the rest was average. It's a loud bar that serves decent food. I have a hard time paying around $40 for 2 sandwiches with fries and a cup of soup and this was without alcohol just tea. This was my first visit and will be my last was not impressed.

A nice little place that is open late on Sundays. We stopped in here for a few beers after midnight on a Sunday. Good service. The chili cheese fries were just average though. It is also close to the Residence Inn if you are staying there.

Driving back to Chicago from Houston we stopped half way in Memphis. As we unloaded the car we asked the door man where we might find a restaurant with reasonable good food and without hesitation he said "down the street on the left The Bardog". We headed out and walked right past this place. No big sign or neon lights.... More

Met some good friends there for dinner and to visit. The food was good but diners should know this is a smoking bar. They have a good fan system that helps but non smokers will still smell like smoke after visiting. There is a downstairs non smoking dining area that opens after 7pm. This is a tavern and it seemed... More

Met a couple of friends there for dinner and a drink. The menu looked promising when we checked online and thought we'd give them a try. Bardog is, first, a bar. They serve food as well, and it's good. I had the Amazing Island Club and enjoyed it as something different than the standard ham and turkey version. My wife... More

Good for drinks and interesting options for lunch on the Sat-Sun brunch menu. Bar allows smoking, so if you aren't a smoker, you might want to try a different location

We were surprised to walk into a smoking bar but we were pleased by the service and food. Great for a late-night snack.
