Best in Memphis

I think River Oaks is the best restaurant in Memphis. The menu is always fresh. The food is fantastic. The service is great too. I almost always get the TV dinner for lunch. It's a four courses on one plate. Don't think for a second that it has any semblance of supermarket food. This is a... read more

We travel to Memphis for a doctor appointment and I found this restaurant while waiting to see doctor. It was EXCELLENT. Beautiful surroundings the cauliflower risotto with balismatic reduction was wonderful as were our entrees. My husband had the tv dinner which was mahi mahi and I had the pasta both were excellent. Will come back on every trip.

This is not a showy, glitzy restaurant, which makes it a perfect place to have gourmet food with colleagues, friends or family in a pleasant atmosphere. Their complete menu with several combinations of interesting food is a testament to the chef. I ordered the Chef's TV Dinner for lunch - a surprise name in such a nice restaurant! The plate... More

I went here with a business collegue for drinks and a light dinner. The service, food and aatmosphere are all very good. It was also very busy (at least I thought so) for a Thursday. The steamed mussell appetizer is a must if you like them. The food is all fresh and well prepared and the srvers are beautiful and... More

So delicious! So welcoming. Had a light solo meal at the bar. The crab, apple and papaya salad was so fresh and full of flavor, and the cauliflower risotto made me swoon. Lindsey and Megan made it all the more enjoyable with their thoughtful and natural hospitality.

Came back for business lunch and quality of food is comparable to dinner. Definitely an E Mphs business crowd at lunch. Prices for lunch are reasonable, service is good, it's a little loud and crowded, but definitely worth it. Can't go wrong with Chef Jose for lunch or dinner!

Restaurant was near my hotel and close to the highway. The atmosphere there is very cozy and warm. Love the food, especially the cauliflower and cheese risotto. Our waitress, Rachel....was very friendly and we had excellent service.

We enjoyed a long, leisurely dinner for four here recently. The appetizers (bignets and charcuterie) were delicious. The steak and frites are consistently good, the salmon was tasty, the pork shank was a little dry and the fish tacos were quite good. Everyone was well satisfied with their dinners. Desserts were SUPERB! The service was good and the waiter respected... More

The Nicoise Salad as well as the service were outstanding. Can't believe I've stayed at a hotel close by several time and did not see this place sooner😄 will definitely revisit next time I'm in town🍷👍

What a pleasant surprise to find a fabulous restaurant sharing a parking lot with a hotel. This was my second trip to Memphis in a year and I looked forward to more delicious meals at the River Oaks. The Tuesday night special was Beef Bourguignon. It was superb! When I complimented Master Chef Jose Gutierrez, he invited me to return... More
