We came upon this restaurant by chance while staying in Memphis for a few days, having driven up from New Orleans. We'd booked Antoines in New Orleans months before, from Australia, as it was meant to be one of the restaurants you should experience. We were very disappointed. While Deja vu doesn't have the incredible history of Antoines it has... More

Wandering around Memphis during a layover, I happened on this little place. A great find - good cooking, a really friendly staff, very reasonable prices. Try it!

Probably the absolute best Creole fare I have ever tasted, and that included restaurants I have tried in New Orleans. I had the alligator stew - twice! The sides (beans & rice was my favorite) were all good too. Po' Boy sandwich, one of the best ever - try the 1/2 and 1/2 - 'gator and catfish, it is excellent.... More

Oh Gary!! what a wonderful restaurant you have here. Excellent staff and fantastic food. And we have told all our friends about the impromptu cherry desert you cooked for us at our table. Please don't burn the house down!!

They now have a new location on Main Street. It is bigger, but the food is just as good. I got the shrimp and grits which were wonderful. Someone else at the table got the vegetarian pasta primavera and it was even better. The choice of selections is great! The staff were great. Chef Gary has come over each time... More

We attended a rehearsal dinner at this restaurant and enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. The desserts were fantastic. The owner and his son were super and we look forward to returning.

We visited Deja Vu as a family and it was so incredible I decided to take my father for his birthday. Both times we had incredible service and the food was perfect. This space doesn't have the ability to convey how good i thought the food was so I am going to share my blog post that I was inspired to... Good food, atmosphere, and service! We had gumbo, étouffée , shrimp and grits, and bananas foster. Gumbo and étouffée were unbelievable. Probably wouldn't repeat the shrimp and grits because the shrimp had a funny texture. The bananas foster was grainy because they hadn't cooked the brown sugar, butter, and alcohol long enough, but still had a good taste. We will... More

We ate at the Main Street location this evening and I absolutely loved it! I ordered the fried catfish with red beans/rice and fries, delicious! My son ordered the fried chicken and it was yummy as well. I wish I lived here so I could enjoy this great restaurant all the time. The service was fantastic and friendly! Go try... More
