I had the rib tip plate. I was good but not great. Some bites were dry and some were great. I was there late on a Saturday lunch so maybe they had sat for a bit in the warmer. BBQ beans were good again but not great. Mac salad was dry but tasted house made. The key here was the... More

Tom's is one of my favorite stops in Memphis for BBQ. Had my usual pulled pork sand which, slaw, and beans. This time I added a slab of ribs. Sandwich and sides excellent as usual but did not care for the ribs. I will admit that I did not order them any particular way so they came out as they... More

Was told by locals of Tom's BBQ that looked like it was an old Arby's that it would be good. My son and his wife had the Hamburger Combo which they say was the best they've had in a while, My wife and I had the Pulled Pork Combo which was not even close to being good. Meat was warm,... More

Stopped in our Diner's, Driveins and Dives tour across the Southeast. Ribtips were great, we are from Texas and had never had that cut before. The rub they use on the ribs was really great and unique, not like everybody elses. The onion rings were good as was the pulled pork sandwich. We had way too much food but ate... More

I got the baby ribs - was fall off the bone good. But my slaw was warm not cold, baked beans had so many bell peppers that's all I tasted. If your going for the meat only this is your place. I do think they were a bit over priced! I guess that's what happens once Guy Fieri has you... More

Very good BBQ. Good ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and sausages. But you must try the rib tip dinner. Great fried chicken wings too. Cafeteria style ordering, some tables to dine in, but, mostly a brisk takeout trade. Sides are good as well. Service is okay, not especially friendly, but, not rude either. Just efficient Foodservice.

My fiancé drove from Nashville seeking to find the stereotypical delicious BBQ that Memphis should have. A friend mentioned this place and added that it was a bit sketchy. But I've always thought to myself that the mom and pop places have some of the best food, so we went. Well I was DEAD wrong. The rib tips were mostly... More

Outstanding service, atmosphere, and food. We stop here for the ribs and side dishes each time we're in Memphis. Sometimes we'll even vary off our route just for a stop at Tom's. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and juicy. Don't leave Memphis without getting some BBQ from here.

Tom's has great food. I usually get the BBQ pork combo, which includes a sandwich, fries and drink for around $7.00. Tom's ribs are some of the best I've ever eaten. My wife got his catfish and said it was the best she has ever had. If you want really good BBQ in Memphis, go to Tom's!

We went on a bbq road trip stopping at a bunch of restaurants to try bbq over a four day period(look for our other reviews!) This ranks at the top of all the bbq joints we tried on our trip(about 12 places). The only thing I would change is that I would ask for no sauce. They have a good... More
