Good food and friendly service at Mackays restaurant Eyemouth

I viaited Mackays REstaurant with East Linton Senior Citizens. On 23rd July. We were warmly welcomed bt the Manager, Maggie. We were rather early but she said that our tables were ready and anyone who wished to sit and wait could do so. The staff were very pleasant and friendly and chatted... read more

I can't recommend the B and B enough! However, breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. Having one member of the team serving wasn't the best.... Slow service with only 3 tables on at this point. The breakfast menu didn't include potato scones which I felt was a tad weird. I feel our server, although very young. Didn't have any... More

We ate here last night,my wifes fish was good but the batter held the fat(it was pretty average). The young girl who served us was lovely and we intended going back tonight and trying something different but when we popped in for a coffee and a snack today we were far from impressed by the lady in charge so I don't... Shockingly bad greasy fish and dry chips, never again, they need to visit Seaton Sluice to see how it should be done!

Me and my partner visited Mackays with our two friends whilst staying at the local caravan park. We wanted to sit in though were told we couldn't, despite other people clearly sitting down enjoying their food. This didn't bother us too much as we thought it would be nice to eat them over looking the caves and beach. The food... More

Some of the best fish 'n chips I have ever tasted. Situated just around the corner from the Co-op and harbour it is obviously popular with locals and visitors alike. What could be better in the early evening sun than to sit on a bench, eating a delicious meal with a bottle of wine from the Co-op? One of life's... More

Surely a "professional" chippy should be able to prepare and cook fish properly? Ordered a fish supper and the fish was very greasy - to the point it ruined the chips it's was lying on and left a pool in the box. Another school boy error was the server putting Ketchup on it after being asked for brown sauce, now... More

Large selection of food and different sized portions. Really fancied the ice cream but not enough room after the fish and chips. Also had cafe facilities

Took four people and we all had fish and chips and starters. The prawn and crap was ok. Too much sauce and not enough crab. The fish and chip were good but should have been better. The chips are ok. But too big. That maybe a taste thing but just too fat. The package tartar sauce is beneath this place... More
