Beautiful location and quality food

This is the third time I have eaten this beautiful plate of Cullen Skink soup.. so so tasty. My daughter loves the pulled pork burger, it's her favourite. A relaxing place to visit and top service from our waitress Emma and waiter Hamish. We will be back...

This has become a regular place for lunch on our wedding anniversary. It is in a beautiful setting, the food is excellent and not over expensive and the service very pleasant. What more can one ask for than sitting overlooking the lake, watching the boats going to and fro while enjoying a freshly caught lake trout and a refreshing drink?

Visited for a wee spot of lunch. Arrived just as it opened at 12 noon..staff were very helpful and welcoming. We had Main meal Burger and Main meal mussels. Both dishes were really lovely...crisp chips, juicy burger and plump tasty mussels in a garlic cream broth. Pleasant first ever visit..lovely setting...we shall be back x thank you x

Popped along for an early evening meal in the very atmospheric pub part of the hotel. Great staff and good honest food in one of the most scenic locations in West Stirlingshire and Scotland.

Sadly the quality of the food at this old favourite has deteriorated. My mother had fishcake which was cold and the portion of risotto which I had was paltry. High prices for poor food. Good staff and great views could not however make up for our disappointment.

We visited for lunch on a Monday with our baby and 4 year old. The hotel is lovely and in a perfect setting, and service was friendly. The food was great too and, while not cheap, worth the money. The only exception to this would be the children's menu. £6 for a main course only and that was meat plus... More

First time I’ve had the experience of eating squat lobsters, for which 6 small crustaceans were served, being the equivalent to having the meat from 6 very small prawns, served along with some dressed lettuce. My partner had a starter of ham hock which was perfectly fine. No bread was offered or was served. Mains included a Moroccan spiced couscous... More

staying in a nearby B&B we were advised to dinner in the Lake hotel. Our dinner was OK (far better then the average inn's in the region), service friendly but even more impressing was the location in the evening with the view on the lake.

Delighted with the staff from the start and then enjoyed wondering through the excellent menu. The dining areas have a view over the lake which adds to the ambiance which is pleasant and comfortable. Food was delicious, well cooked and presented. Definitely looking forward to a return visit.
