Disappointing dinner in the bar. No atmosphere and little interaction from staff - we came early evening for dinner - this shouldn't matter though as first impressions always count! Limited menu and drinks/ mixers too expensive. Not as good as on previous visits.

We didn't stay in the hotel, just ate at the restaurant and it was lovely. A really pretty setting right next to and overlooking the lake. Great big windows in the restaurant so everyone has a great view. Our food was delicious. Quite generous portions so we couldn't finish our mains after having had a starter too. Would definitely return.

Only had dinner here so can't comment on the rooms. Lovely location and next door to the Nick Nairn cook school so very disappointed to find that the restaurant had boring unimaginative food of the fish and chips, sticky toffee ilk. No discernible use of local or seasonal ingredients. The trout was from the lake but even it probably started... More

The food was lovely, the view spectacular, the service was wonderful....but please do something about the bins outside - a terrible smell as you enter via the car park. Would have been a 5 otherwise.

This is a superb location... Sitting in the conservatory, looking across the lake with the island that houses the ruined priory! Absolutely delightful. Glorious food ( yum - mussels!) and extremely helpful staff. A very memorable lunch!

Food setting and establishment. Nothing was too much trouble. The speciality is the lake caught trout and it was by far the best I have ever tasted. Will be coming back Friday we liked it so much

We were a party of seven, 3 generations, including several vegetarians and celebrating a birthday at lunchtime. We began with drinks in the bar and were impressed to be offered 3 different gins for our pre-prandials. We enjoyed the special soup - roast onion, potato and thyme - as well as the veggie salads and fish cakes. For mains the... More

You eat in the conservatory of a waterfront hotel built in classic New England style, and the amazing view over the loch, with the sun setting, could not be bettered anywhere in the UK. Add to that impeccable, yet relaxed service, wonderful food and wine, there is nothing more to add than to say that if you are in the... More
