Everything about Smiddy's was excellent The greeting on arrival from the pleasant staff Lynn the owner and the girls The menu was interesting The wine list was very reasonably priced with the hose wines really good value Now the best bit for us, my wife is a Coeliac. And has to have a Gluten Free diet and the waitresses were... More

Unlike truculance for tea last year this was Satisfaction at the Smiddy. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and delightful wholesome fare (no fine dining here just fine food cooked very well) plus welcoming, cheerful waitresses (Toni served us with a smile and cheerful chatter) and hostess (thank you too Lynn -host was in the kichen doing most of the work - allegedly).... This was the third time we'd dined at The Old Smiddy whilst visiting Killin and it was as good as ever. A lovely warm and personal welcome from the staff set the mood for the evening. There is plenty of choice on the menu which is very reasonably priced-over our visits we've tried a variety of dishes and never been... More

We were told in a nearby hotel, this was supposed to be great! So we booked a table just one day ahead. We arrived and sat down. Our table was kind of stuffed between two other ones, so that was a bit uncomfortable. We noticed the staff looked a bit shabby, no nice outfit, just what they put on that... More

Stopped off last minute and was lucky enough to get a table as The Old Smiddy is normally fully booked. The food was fine and reasonably priced for the area and the staff very pleasant. We also had a takeaway fish and chips on a previous night and they were very nice.

Firstly the B&B was of a very high standard, we stayed in The Ruby Room and it was so soothing at night to hear the river and The Falls of Lochart. The best Scottish breakfast we tasted in our week in Scotland. Lynne the owner was so friendly and accommodating , helping us out with soaking wet boots after we... More

We often stay in Killin and our visit this week did not disappoint - we had roasted red pepper soup which was fab and home made. Around us various other meals looked equally good. The variety of ice creams is another good option.

Visited with a group on a weekend trip to Loch Tay Highland Lodges. We were 17 people and we were treated brilliantly. We were made to feel very welcome and we received fantastic service throughout the evening. The food was absolutely delicious with good portion sizes and lovely presentation. We had drinks too and the bill was excellent value. I... More

Brilliant food with great staff no beer on tap and bottles a bit expensive would advise booking a table as it gets really busy.

Our group of 22 invaded this venue for supper and although some choices had been pre-arranged, the friendly staff soon had us tucking in to some really excellent plates of food. Popular choices were the irresistable fish and chips and a hearty beef and ale pie but other menu items were just as delectable, well prepared and neatly presented. The... More
