This is a lovely pub/hotel. The food was delicious and huge portions. The kids portions were the same size as adult portions. Lovely open fire gives the place lots of atmosphere. Incredibly busy!

Very popular with locals and walkers alike. Although very busy it has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and service was at a perfect pace. It is slightly pricey but is on par with anywhere else that serves food of this quality. Will return when I come back with my other half who wants to see the Tom Weir statue

Went to Balmaha to see the Tom Weir statue and needed some lunch and a heat. We were welcomed very warmly and the food was great. Well cooked and presented and lots of it. Good value for money too. We'll be back!!!

Alway been aware of here as I worked across the road for the park authority. I have treated my wife here three times now and never been disappointed. The food is well made, fresh and they don't skimp on the portions. Didn't have to wait long for our food either. The welcoming fire place provides great heat especially after a... More

Visited today for lunch on recommendations, We were not disappointed. Going into the bar area on a cold day we were greeted by a roaring open wood burning fire, wonderful, the staff were equally as warm with their welcome. We ordered 2 non alcoholic drinks, and both had the oak tree burger it was layered with fantastic battered onion rings,... More

Visited here for lunch on a friends recommendation, we weren't disappointed. We has Cullen Skink and the Oak Tree Burger and coffee. The soup was very nice and came with a crusty roll. The burger was very tasty and was about 8 inches high, due to the double layer of onion rings. Cost £26. Not cheap, but not too expensive.... More

We were staying 6 miles away in a lodge & came here for a meal on the saturday night. We entered the main bar & that is where we were seated. We noticed later on that there was also a dining area next door which looked more evening dining, however, had we been given the choice, we would of picked... More

There is nothing more to say. Great pub food, humongous portions and extremely attentive stuff. Check out the blackboard before you order. Cannot be anywhere near Balmaha without going there and having that platter. You will have to share or skip the main. Good choice of ales and whisky galore. The pub is beautifully located.
