I've done the west highland way 5 or 6 times now and this is my favourite stop. When you've just tackled conic hill there's nothing better than sitting at the oak tree inn with a nice cold pint. The food is also exceptional. I remember one year the soup of the day was lentil and it was honestly the... read more

This is the second time we have eaten there, the last time ages ago. I can honestly say that we were very happy with the result again. The staff are very friendly and helpful, prompt service as well. The place it's self is on the quaint side, an attraction in itself with a mixture of old grandfather clocks and general... More

We had travelled by bus from Drymen to have a look at Balmaha as we had not been there for years. Unfortunately the weather was horrible but we sought sanctuary in the Oak Tree. A friendly smile at the front desk was very welcoming and we found a table in the bar area. The place was rather quiet but that... More

Food, service, location, views, value for money... All just outstanding. Cannot fault it. You'd be a fool not to try it!

Decided to drive out to The Oak Tree Inn today for a lunch. Despite the poor weather, you can see this is a lovely, picturesque spot that will be very busy in good weather. Muddy boots are welcome and is split between a coffee shop, village shop and then restaurant / bar. We went in to the latter and were... More

Visited for early lunch/ late breakfast. Had a soup and a BLT chabatta. Both were really good and came quiet quickly. A service with a simile once again therefore will definitely return for a third visit when in the area.

We often visit Oak Tree Inn when we are in the area. We visited on Boxing Day and once again had a fantastic meal. Service is excellent and the staff know there stuff. I had the lasagne and husband had the burger. Very tasty as usual. My husband loves the variety of real ale and says the staffs knowledge of... More

On a family trip we found ourselves in Balmaha all hungry so we decided to head into the oak tree to see what was on offer. Being a fan of the hearty breakfast that they serve in all the countries that conform the UK, I did not hesitate to order it when I saw it on the menu and I... More

This very busy establishment serves up some lovely dishes. The choice is good and food dished is of excellent quality. The one downside is there is no bar stools to enjoy a drink. It seemed that its concentrated on food. Suited us but would have liked to have enjoyed a quick drink without formally being seated.
