A group of 4 had lunch here while walking the West Highland Way. We all chose soup and a roll. It was good walking food and kept us going for the rest of the day.

We visited this restaurant today and were shown to a table immediately. Fortunately we were early as on the way out there was a considerable queue for tables. The menu was varied, although it was just pub grub. Albeit expensive pub grub as £9.95 for macaroni cheese is a bit steep. We chose baked potatoes which were quite small but... More

Okay, so they are clearly targeting themselves a bit more upmarket than your average West Highland Way walker. But there are a lot of us, with money to spend, so when we do stagger in a little tired from the hill to order a simple dish of food that we might sit outside with (on a day when there was... More

Really pretty little spot on the east coast of Loch Lomond. Tables inside and out, friendly service, good menu choice and all our food was super tasty with some original options. Generous portions and great value. No criticisms, great to go somewhere everything's just done well :) Tip: walk along the bank of the river to the wooden jetty that... More

Just a good old fashioned pub with a good selection of drinks and great home cooked food. There's not much in the area to compare but don't hesitate to pop in for a meal

Whilst staying overnight in Balmaha we called in for our evening meal. The place was very busy & we had a short wait for a table. We tried the Balmaha lager whilst getting warmed by the open fire. The dining area is very quaint, with all manner of plates etc hanging on the walls. It must be a nightmare for... More

Excellent place to grab a bit to eat. Starters came very quickly, mains were a bit slower but we didn't mind as the place has lots of books and has pictures and items on the wall. The kids loved it and the staff were brilliant. The cullen skink was first class.

It's a shame that the reviews go from average to very good...I'd call this a good pub. Nothing to rave about, but nothing to complain about! The food was fine and so was the service. The dessert was excellent!
