We took a day trip to Bute with my parents, son and his girlfriend and several cousins, and came upon the Kingarth Hotel. It was a glorious day and we sat on the covered patio and had an amazing lunch. All of the meals were huge and could easily be shared, but they were so delicious that we stuffed in... More

I was stuck on Bute for a day on the Fly UK 2014 microlight rally. Owing to the bad weather 7 of us basically made this place our home for the day, living on the excellent ploughmans, soft drinks and free wifi all day checking the weather. Kev the barman even ran a couple of us into Rothesay for fuel... More

Excellent food and service in this friendly pub and hotel. A good menu with a specials board and good value for money.

Excellent food that is both tasty and hearty portions. Love the specials and found it great value. Been before and will definitely be back.

We visited on 2 occasions. On the first, it was very busy but they managed to find us a table. We booked for the following evening! The staff were very friendly although the service was a little slow. The food, when it arrived, was excellent. I'd go back for the apple crumble alone!

Having previously stopped for a quick bite on a couple of occassions we thought we would try out some of the specials. I had the scallops to start and the steak and ale pie. My vegetarian partner had the goats cheese and onion chutney to start and the beer battered cod. The food clearly used high quality ingredients, was perfectly... More
