We stayed in Bute for a week and once we found the Kingarth we visited at least three times during our stay! This is the sort of place that will appeal to all ages, a really friendly family run pub/ restaurant with a beautiful log fire, a good choice of drinks, and lovely and clean bathrooms. The food menu is... More

It was wet, it was windy and we had only 1 day on the island so we went for this Tripadvisor recommended pub and what a little find! Meals all day - the pub run by the owners who restored it 17 years ago - warm fire - seriously interesting menu - nice wine list & beers - good range... More

Well cooked delicious food which doesn't break the bank, also there's a good choice on the menu. The atmosphere is pleasant, not too noisy and the surrounding countryside is superb.

After a long walk with our dog the pub was the perfect place for a warm welcome, a wee dram and a hearty meal. The food was great, only reason it's a 4 from me is as a veggie there wasn't a choice of mains but what we had was delicious. What makes this place is the warm welcome from... More

The Kingarth is a real pleasure to eat it, especially since it's within walking distance of Kilchatten Bay, where we come to on holiday. Food is beautifully prepared and served, with a real pride in presentation and use of local produce. The children love their menu and are always made welcome. They especially like the rabbit enclosure (!) in the... More

Been visiting for the past five years and always a warm welcome, solicitous and helpful staff and great food. Although a pub bar may not be the usual place to get fish and chips, I can heartily recommend the take out fish and chips sublimely cooked to order ( by the stern direction of Tilly)which is now a first night... Went for lunch with my husband and dad and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Can recommend the soups, cold meat platter, fish and chips and the burgers all were excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Went for dinner here last night and it was excellent! The portion sizes were massive for a reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and great atmosphere. By far the best place we've eaten so far on the island :)
