Fantastic mixed fish platter

After long morning's walk we came in after 2pm not expecting a lunch menu - but had a most delicious plate of cold fish with dill sauce, followed by lemon drizzle cake; friendly warm atmosphere, full of guests, comfy chairs - a real find.

Came here yesterday with wife daughter and family friends and was so impressed I brought my parents today! Menu is superb, service is great and the barn is bright warm and cosy. I'll be back.

Popped in for a quick bite of lunch, great colourful comfy environment, lovely fishcakes, if we hadn't been so full we would have had one of the scrumptious looking choc scones with nutella cream, mmmm. Service was chatty and charming.

Recently picked up a takeaway from this absolute gem of a restaurant! Lovely fresh salad and coleslaw with my coronation chicken baguette. The scone was also great. If you are in the area go! Bought a few chutneys too from the shop.

We went to that magical little place again called The Barn and Millhouse near Tighnabruaich. Sophie and her staff are really warm and friendly and their food and backing is out this world. We had our latte and fruit scone in front of the wood burning stove, this warms the cockles of your heart. The scones and the coffee were... More

Enjoyed our visit to The Barn. Good coffee and an amazing chocolate chip scone. The lunch menu looked very tempting too. Staff were very friendly and helpful offering travel advice. Nice little gift shop too.

The restaurant / cafe has an excellent menu with scrum my food and offer a real meeting place for the local community and visitors at Millcroft. It is certainly worth a visit if you want a nice snack / meal / chat and experience true Scottish hospitality. Well Done we will be back

Doesn't look much from the outside, and not especially easy to find - just past a staggered junction between Tighnabruich and the ferry terminal. But worth searching out. Simple menu, but lovely stuff, clearly home cooked.
