Oh my goodness, what a menu, everything contained haggis.... Heck, I expect that the rest room toilet paper was impregnated with haggis too but we left hurriedly after the mountain man on guard gave us a hard stare - maybe he was expecting Jocky Wilson's long lost brother Alex Salmond instead........ . Bit of a strange place this one, I... More

We called in here twice during our stay in Tighnabruaich, once for a really nice snack lunch and once just for coffee. Both times the service was efficient and friendly and the food very nice. It is hard to have just coffee, as the home made cakes look completely delicious and we were certainly tempted, but were eating too much... More

Stopped here for lunch. The decor is very strange, tasteless and dated. The male in charge seemed decidedly odd as we sat down. He just stared at us wildly without any welcome at all or acknowledgement. The place was empty and we should have realised why. We were hungry so decided to try it. The meal that we had both starters and... More

Burnside has been excellent value since it opened almost ten years ago. The menu is well-balanced and the food is excellent. The internal decor is very interesting and the staff are first rate. Another must visit restaurant when in Cowal.

We couldn't possible comment on the food or cleanliness of this establishment, hence the average marks for food and cleanliness, as when we entered, even although there was only 1 table occupied, we were advised by a strange and off-hand waiter that there would be no table available for 2 hours??? i got the impression that we perhaps weren't dressed... Visited the bistro on a very rainy Monday in July! We were dropped off by the waverly and were very worried about what to do in such a quiet village, on a Sunday in the pouring rain. Stumbled across this bistro and instantly felt welcome! The food was good, if a little on the expensive side given what we ordered.... More

We called in here for lunch, to sit outside with the dogs. The waitress was friendly and bought the dogs a bowl of fresh water. We ordered paninis and lattes. It was quite pricey for a simple panini. A coach trip that arrived made the beautiful quiet location become very packed and noisy! All in all was an ok place... More

Went for a meal out with family for a special occasion, was so embarrassed, I will never recommend to anyone. The food was of "bad" quality and lacking in presentation. The food when we eventually got it, was cold and no sign of plates being heated at all. Also food was not cooked properly, some of the food ordered was... More

We were here a couple of days ago, luckily in brilliant sunshine. If we are passing we often try and pop in for lunch. We have been several times before, but there seemed to be a new fabulous seating area, or maybe we had never noticed it before, but it was across the road and right on the waters edge.... More
