Surprisingly good

Visited here, as the other Indian in the town was closed for refurb, and I'm pleased it was. It looks a bit drab, but the quality of the food is top notch. The large menu for both the Indian and Chinese has some good individual choices as well as the usual suspects. Both of our curries were full... read more

It's quite plain inside, not somewhere you'd go for the decor and ambience - but 3 of us ate there and all enjoyed our choice of meals. Friday night, so pretty busy but the young guy serving was always friendly and polite despite rushing around. I went for chicken palak - had never had a 'palak' before (spinachy dish), but... More

Food was ok. Not wonderful, but ok. Service was very disappointing. On my own. Asked if I could get half rice and chips with my chicken curry, as I was on my own and a full portion of each on their own would be too much. Waiter said yes, but then came back when chef said no. I didn't actually... More

We have now tried both Indian and Chinese meals in this restaurant and have been very impressed by both. The portions are generous and well prepared and the waitress is extremely pleasant friendly and polite. We did not have to wait long after putting in our order but the food was freshly cooked. If I had to make a criticism it would be... Sat in for a meal on a very busy Friday night with takeaway orders. The lady looking after everything was very busy but took the time to make sure everyone was okay whether phoning, waiting for an order or arriving for a meal. Not licensed so take your own they are happy to open it and give glasses. Food in... More

Visited both times we've stayed in the area. The building and restaurant is a little dated, but the foods good. Choice of Indian or Chinese or a mix of both is a little unusual, but works well. Take your own wine and beer, something I definitely prefer.

I think this restaurant is Bangladeshi run. The Indian food was good and we didn't try the Chinese. Chilli chicken was hot and spicy which was what we were hoping for. Not a place that I'd make a beeline for, but not bad for Lochgilphead.

We got a takeaway from here this evening and it was a bit of a mixed review. My Dum Gosht was delicious.Loads of tender lamb chunks & soft onion and the spicing was spot on. My husband had a vegetable vindaloo and it was just frozen veg in a heavily chilli-powdered sauce. The Bahjis & bombay potato were fine although... More
