Popped in to buy a Christmas present voucher, saw the salads and thought 'got to try them'. Returned with friends for lunch. Exciting menu, home cooked food beautifully and creatively presented. Enjoyed every morsel. High standards of food preparation, service, cleanliness and attention to detail. Not to be missed eatery. Highly recommended.

We found the Smiddy Bistro by chance on a day trip to Lochgilphead and what a find it was. Tucked away behind the main Street, is a delightful little cafe in what was once the town blacksmith's workshop. The food was all home cooked and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'd definitely seek out this great wee... More

This is what Trip Advisor is all about. You probably wouldn't have found this without it and even then could easily have continued on past. So very pleased we didn't though! The standards are high - very clean & well presented. The food is imaginatively presented, of good quality & quantity. Cannot recommend highly enough. A lesson in what can... More

We chanced upon the Smiddy when we parked next to their sign directing us down the small street. What a lucky find! The food was delicious and decent portions. They were lovely with our two young sons too. We will definitely return if we are in the vicinity again!

Went for lunch with friends. What a fabulous omelette and mini salad. Well worth a wait when the smiddy is busy. Food is always yummy and lots of it.

This is the place to eat were one in Lochgilphead. It is not large but well worth waiting for a seat, which is often the case since the room is frequently full of locals who know a good place to eat when they find it. All the food is prepared on the premises and is of a uniformly high quality.... More

Lovely place for coffee and a snack. Didn't know it existed until a friend told us about it and glad they did. A bit cramped if full which it often is, and which is a good recommendation. It is now a regular stopping spot on route to Campbeltown.

Made my second visit to The Smiddy last week. Still a great place to eat. Had the excellent haggis again. I should have tried something else. there are so many nice looking things on the menu.

We had an excellent family lunch in the Smiddy Bistro, which is hidden away up a side street. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and fresh. Would highly recommend.
