The Tayvallich Inn remains a firm favourite in mid Argyll, well worth the trip from some distance away. Check out the seafood and the curry of the day, and taste the Loch Ness draught ale if you haven't met it before.

Many are happy to stop at Crinan and the Canal- which is stunning on a sunny day - but do take the road south to Tayvallich and Loch Sweden. A detour of delights both sea and shore ... And then the Inn, unpretentious and lochside concealing wonderful seafood with local scallops, perfectly seared, langoustines of the giant variety and lobsters... More

We have visited several times over the summer and have had consistently good food. There are outdoor tables with a view of the bay which are very popular on a sunny day. Equally there is plenty of seating indoors. The service has always been friendly and with a smile, even when busy. I would definitely recommend this pub.

After searching for places to eat whilst on holiday we came across this restaurant. We noticed some pictures of seafood platters which looked to good to miss. We did however notice that these weren't always on the menu so emailed to see if we could preorder them ahead of our trip. Danny the manager was quick to respond and was... More

After the disappointment of Loch Fyne Oyster Bar last night this was excellent -great food, good service and good value. Great location overlooking the bay and lively atmosphere with a nice mix of 'locals' and tourists

Great spot with helpful young staff and outdoor dining when weather permits are all most welcome we enjoyed the food which was well cooked and prepared and served but I must recommend especially the best seafood soup I can recall.

Been eating at the Tayvallich Inn for decades. Seafood is always great, fresh, and interesting. It's not a posh restaurant, and the bar is the best place to enjoy food, good wines and beers, and atmosphere. We're very lucky to have such good food on the doorstep and nice to see visitors enjoy the experience.

Not the most appealing building if you like pubs to be old and charming, but well worth a visit. We ate in the bar as the restaurant was fully booked - I guess this happens a lot in the summer. There are excellent Ness beers ( a new one on me) on draught, and a good menu with daily specials... More

The fish here is the freshest you would get anywhere - almost jumps out of the loch on to your plate. We had a squat lobster starter and, being a bit unsure of how to tackle these, I asked the young waitress for her advice. The waitress was happy to demonstrate the best way to remove the delicious meat within... More

We recently visited the inn for a meal as we were staying at the owners cottage for a holiday and thought we'd see what it was like. A very pleasant location. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. My father in law has certain dietary restrictions and the chef obliged by cooking a meal for him that was not... More
