Ran by an affable, helpful and very efficient Clydebank man and his able young Welsh assistant (and no doubt by more people who remained hidden in the kitchen) this was an oasis after driving for a few days travelling the islands in a motorhome without a "real" coffee. Although he was full Steven (the proprietor) made us more than welcome... More

Great little tearoom here. Lovely tea/coffee options and superb homebaking. They also have a very good snack and light bites menu. Well worth a visit!

Our two visits to First Fruits Tearoom were rewarded by the best coffee we tasted on the Hebrides, tasty home made cakes and a friendly welcome. On both occasions, the place was jammed with cyclists, kayakers, walkers and explorers arriving or leaving Tarberts, giving it a lovely melting pot feel. Well worth the stop.

The owner and his staff are a very cheerful and welcoming bunch. We had lunch here twice and everything was obviously freshly made and very tasty. If you are self catering on Harris they do some dishes as take away.

This little cottage transformed in a traditional tearoom is worth a visit. I had a lovely hot chocolate, and the cakes were also very good, and all this for a modest price given you are in the outer hebrides. There are a lot of beautiful paintings of Harris on the walls for sale. A nice little gem in Tarbert, perfect... More
