Went to the reception on 3rd June to book a table at the Chandlery for the 4th. to be told that it was now closed as the new owners of the hotel to which it is attached did not feel they wanted it as part of their business plan. This is unfortunate as this was THE place to eat when... More

So many great restaurants in Portree but the fish here has to take the top prize - a little pricey but well worth it, freshly cooked with fresh vibrant ingredients. A Must visit, but worth booking ahead.

We were staying in a holiday apartment rental (check out that review too) but wanted a nice dinner out. The Bosville's menu came highly recommended, and it was just a short walk away (most everything in Portree is just a short walk away!) so off we went. DELICIOUS. Husband had the fish & chips, just as good as others have... More

The filet of Haddock is fabulous here. The chips are fresh and not greasy, the fish is delicately breaded, and the mushy peas are the best I have ever had in Scotland! The value of the meal is a also good. We ate in the bar, which is cosy and friendly.

We arrived at around 7pm on a Thursday evening and were greeted warmly at reception. We were told that as we didn't have a reservation we would need to add our names to a waiting list and take a seat at the bar where we could wait until our names were called. We presumed that this was because they were... More

I had a Duo of Melon and Pan Seared Mackerel. The melon is in some sort of minted taste syrup, I'd rather like the natural sweetness from the melon instead of from the syrup. The mackerel is definitely well cooked and very fresh, loved it! But the plate is freezing cold which marks down the experience a bit. So overall,... More

We already wrote a review for the Bistro at Bosville, but the Chandlery is the other name and seems to have merged both offerings under one label now. As mentioned in the other review, good food, good service and a surprise find. Woudl recommend it.

The restaurant are situated right next to a "bistro" and only a minor curtain seperates it. Its a good idea to have a bistro and a good restaurant, but this is not working. The bistro are quite noisy and since there are no real seperation between the two, you almost have to shout sometimes in the restaurant that tries to... More
